hia there, so, i have a crappy pc, and takes forever to do anything, its outdated IMO and cant be upgraded with any of the good stuff... so, im here asking if anyone has any good suggestions on gaming PCs. It MUST be windows 7, recommended to have the following: have 3.8 GHz, 1 TB HD, more than 8GB of RAM, and.. as of this point i dunno much about gaming computers. so, any help in this would be awesome!

here is a link to a PC i have been trying to get so far.. but im broke. can someone tell me if this PC is even worth it? Amzn.com

Sadly, i have to use this on wishlist mode because they dont have the windows 7 Version in stock atm... but that PC, windows 7.. would it be good?

here is the windows 10 version (which i DO NOT WANT). Amazon.com

Here are my System Specs atm.

Windows XP Pro. 2002. SP 3.

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz

3.39 GHz, 3.24 GB of RAM,

It has an outdated Motherboard so cant be easily upgraded. AND, im broke.. i dont have money for anything. i just want help on what to save for.

Gratefully, Knight

Ah, everyone was at some point in your place. Broke, with a dream of a new pc :) .

The one you have in mind is not bad, but, since you have no money at the moment, I would suggest to just start saving for now. You'll need around 400$-500$ dollars for a decent one. Of course, the more money you spent, the better the pc. But not everyone has that money. And don't worry about the OS, you can always install your preferred version of Windows after you buy the pc. Though I would suggest to find one without Windows in it, it adds a lot of money to the price, money which I am sure you prefer in your pocket (or spent on a better processor :) ).

Good luck!

If you do not know much about computers or do not want to "overspend", I would suggest you to look for the latest game released and look for the recommended requirements, that would be a good starting point (At that point the computer can last quite a lot, that is if you do not expect to play all games on ultra even 3 years later).

-Edit-
I have just looked on google "The Witcher 3" recommended requirements and, compared to that computer you have linked, the GPU is much much much weaker, in comparison; Not saying it would not run it but point is that if you have to play The Witcher 3 on low-medium settings, chance is that in a few years you may wish to change computer again.

Hello Golden Knight,

If you're still looking for a new computer, and you don't mind a laptop, i would recommend Metabox. I discovered them thanks to an ad here on ModDB, and they have great customizable laptops at decent prices. (I paid only $2500(AU) for a top-end machine a little over a year ago, and it's comparable to the desktop gaming P.C. i bought elsewhere for $3600 a few years ago.)

Their customer service is remarkably good, too - My D.V.D. drive died within the warranty, and not only did they send me a replacement without me having to send it back, they actually replaced it with a Blu-Ray drive! I kind of wish the graphics card or processor had died too. :P

One problem i had with them though was that they didn't activate Windows for some reason, despite me having paid for it. You may want to bear this in mind when making your decision.

Also, being a laptop, the sound quality is pretty terrible so it's not recommended if you want something you can listen to music on as well.

Generally speaking, you can get a more powerful desktop than an equivalent-generation laptop (and it would be cheaper if you build it yourself too), but personally i prefer lappies for their compactness - Sometimes i just like to sit up in bed and play games when my back doesn't feel like sitting at the desk. Plus the inbuilt battery allows you to keep going during a blackout too, which is a nice bonus.

I wish you the best in your hunt for a new computer. (:

goodluck! Its actually a good plan to ask and check out what products you really like and don't like to avoid wasting your money to the products that aren't helpful to you especially if you're planning to buy is a gadget
