I am in the very early stages of development for a Civil War Era FPS. I have reviewed quite a few different possibilities for the engine and code elements of, but I am still really conflicted on the different choices between engines. Any suggestions on what I should look for to create the game? Thanks, any input is appreciated. |

Greetings Raccoon, You have to consider a number of things.
Not all engines are created the same, and just because an engine is popular doesn't make it the best. I think of game engines as cars. The ford festiva might be the most popular, but it will never compare to a Porsche. However to drive a Porsche you have to be a little more seasoned Hope this helps you out. Thanks Randall, right now I'm leaning towards UE4. Mostly because I have heard a lot of good things from fellow game devs and because of its small request of a cut of the gross income. Right now, I am targeting Windows users. I am using 3D assests, and I am actually looking for someone experienced in programs like Blender. |
