From the outside... Thread

Today at school we watched an Opera show that had to deal with how other people view the United States. There were some pretty hardcore things said, though quite a few people were only truly mad at the United States's foreign policy, not at individuals residing in the country.

I think that it would be an interesting thing to see how other people view not only the United States, but other countries as well. It would be interesting to see if everyone feels the same about other countries, or if some people have differing views based on what country they come from.

What pops up into my mind the first thing when i think of some countries are as follows (dont flame me for this, this is just what i have been conditioned to think, or somethin like that...):

Australia- people running around sorta like Crocodile Dundee, wrestlin with crocodiles, and talking in an almost incomprehensible accent

England- short little happy people, with really think accents and speak with a lot of colloquialisms

anywho, even though i know that some of these stereotypes are very wrong, it is still one of the first things that i think of when thinking of these countries. Post your thoughts on other countries, and let's see where this goes...

Yes, I am a little sick of Canadian-flaming as well.

I see the US as basically a big Canada with 300 times more people. (Of course the same relation could be made the other way around...I'd probably get flamed for saying the US is a giant Canada, instead of Canada is a small USA...but hey. I live here)

The Australians, I see basically another 'normal' (to me) civilization with different accents. Sure I've seen Crocodile Dundee but that's just one australian guy...I can't seem to imagine a bunch of people like that milling about ruddy deserts and forests fighting wild kangaroos with boomerangs

England.. Or Great Britain or the UK or whatever... I see as another country like us, with different accents and more sophisticated, if not sometimes 'snobbish' people. And then there's the people who kind of are their own nationality...*COUGH*azz0r*COUGH*

Seriously; American is an economic powerhouse, that has various parts of decaying crap that can only lead to its own destruction.

I think chinese and japanese people rely on america to buy all of their products
this making us consumers and a major economic power

Oh - and I don't think any of us are overweight. PF actually says he's a buff daddy

Australia - Everyone wheres khaki outfits with khaki hats.

England - Short, happy, "god bless the queen!"

France - stuck up, Everyone is named Piere, and they where those goofy artist hats with striped black and white shirts.

Japan - everybody over 12 has a degree in business
