Hello
As promised in my presentation I will speak about a game some friends and I created 7 years ago and perhaps you can help and advise us with the project to translate it.
It’s a browser based 2D MMORPG (free to play) with old school graphics and a number of action points you earn each hour. This game exists only in french version so far (http://www.terre-des-elements.net) and for a long time I had in mind to build an english version. But the priority was always the satisfaction of the existing community and all the improvements we could bring to the game.

If you just want a look at the game you can check this video showing a little insight of the game:
Survey of the game - Indie DB

For the first time since the beginning we are not working on a large upgrade (we have several small ones scheduled) and I thought that perhaps we could go on with this english version. I don’t want to modify the existing server because I don’t think new players will find comfortable to enter an existing french community rather I would like to create a new server with a new community.

There will be a lot of work to adapt the scripts and some money to spend for the translation. We are not a company but some people using our off-work time so before we start this project I want to make sure that it’s worth it.In other words, is there enough people interested to play this game (and potentially enough people to donate if we use crowdfunding for the translation)?I don’t plan to have thousands of players but a few hundreds would be great (over the years the French version has ranged between 400 and 150 players)

So let’s me present you our baby.I will use a text written by one of the players to show that they are really involved.

“Rise of Melrath Zorac is the name of the project to translate the French game “Terre des éléments” (literally the land of elements), Melrath Zorac being the main city of the game.

It’s an online role-playing game set in a fantasy universe. It is played without downloading and is completely free. Action points are accumulated each hour to attack, move or perform your job. It still possible to move faster with bonus points purchasable but their use is limited. Affectionately called "TDE" by players, this game created in 2007 is constantly evolving.

As soon as the game is started, different choices are available. First, there is the possibility to choose between four classes (Ranger, Magician, Necromancer or Warrior) and a five karmas (Maleficent, Harmful, Neutral, Fair or Harmonic). Then the choice of the element is required (Water, Earth, Air and Fire). All this affects the appearance of the character. All these choices cause the player to trace its route and to define its own future. It can therefore subsequently, if desired, write his story and explain its origins there. The role plays of each character as well as the history of this land have an important place in this game.Besides the four basic land on which the adventurers make their debut, there are several countries where the war between the four elements continues to rage, such as the city of Melrath Zorac, snowy peaks, IssCaNak marshes, the Academy, Kiar Mar forest, Eewa island, etc.. It is simply a vast and rich world to discover where the scenery is majestic.

At first, the game seems complex to play, but everyone finds a technique of his own. It is possible to use the mouse or keyboard shortcuts to manage the various skills of attack, heal, craft buff and debuff. As the player gains levels, it can assign points in different characteristics: vitality, address, strength, spirit, luck, resistance and precision. He can also possible improve and t buy various skills.

Although PVE is something important and necessary in all RPGs, this one also offers the opportunity to regularly PVP. Several skills were implanted and a PVP level to reduce the level difference between players during the confrontation. Furthermore, a joust system is in plac. It causes the player, along with his team, to fight against his opponents to gain the most points possible to gain bonus experience and majestic distinctions.

This game also offers the possibility of having two jobs. The first serving to different crops (herbalist, miner, tanner or lumberjack) and a second (carpenter, alchemist, weaver or blacksmith) used to product weapons, potions, armor, etc… It is therefore a work of precision and teamwork to bring all the resources needed for different productions.

Each player has the ability to communicate with others using private messages or different chat boxes available. They can also, if they wish, meet in a tavern to enjoy a small dish, a drink or just courting offering flowers to the desired person. You will be encouraged to form factions and thus be able to play with other people while having some bonuses and benefits. One of them is to build a fortress where faction members can stay and sleep in the shelter.

In addition to all these possibilities, the designers had a great attention to detail, for example:- Sunrise and sunset so to have a night period- The fact to target another character or monster causes the player to turn to him,- When a player dies, a bloodstain appears on the floor, etc..In addition, a team works very hard to keep this attractive game creating animations of all kinds, new quests and unexpected developments.

To conclude, TDE is
- More than 6 years of existence,
- Over 1600 collectible objects,
- 330 distinctions to acquire to witness the deeds of every adventurer,
- More than 1000 PNJ and 2000 events,
- More than 600 equipments
- 74 resources to harvest,
- 220 production recipes,
- 750 drops,- 118 skills,
- Over 200 quests,
- Nearly 350 kinds of monsters,
- 500 maps
- The ability to summon monsters to help the player to fight,
- A very involved community, most of the drawings and some quests being made by players.”

Thanks for reading and any advice will be appreciated. Also you can register on the forum Riseofmz.net (although I just created it and I am for the moment the only registered user)
