You mean advertising games?
If you google a bit, you can find forums and communities in which you can post your game.

As someone who runs a forum, if someone comes there just to try to convince people to buy their product, if it's not in the proper category & related to the forum, I'll not only remove the thread but also ban the user.

With that said, just make sure you're not "advertising" your game in the wrong places. You could also contact site admins, forum mods, etc. & see about adverts for your game. If you were making a Doom or Quake engine based game I'd advert it in my "banner" area for free on my forums, for example.

marcsteene posted a thread a few days ago about getting Ytubers to play your game ( game given to them for free or with a significant discount to sale price) and then having them posting it on their 'Lets Play' Channels. I may have pointed out a few holes in the idea, but its still a very good one if you ask me.
