I fooled around with it for a couple of minutes. I think the premise is very interesting, even if it was done before with Mirror´s edge or games like that, first person platformers can be really fun. the first thing I noticed was the combination of high contrast between the environment, the geometry and the cartoon shader. It can be really confusing and I know it´s a very early alpha, but the cartoon shader need to be fixed, it´s to wide. Also try to use less saturated colors, try to go for a little more gray instead of pitch black for the buildings. Unless you are aiming for high contrast in which case I would say that it needs a little more work to get it right.

I noticed that with "ctrl" you can crouch but I found it unnecesary, maybe a slide would fit better with the game. sliding and jumping is always fun, you can almost feel the kinetic force behind it, but thats just me haha.

I would say that using iconic places from the world as potential maps from the game would be helpful to keep the game interesting, instead of just jumping around in random places. Finally, by reading your description on the game summary, I assume that there will be enemies or stuff like that around the map. I think it could be a good twist to the game, giving the player small objetives and finding ways to move around while dodging enemies or maybe using them for his advantage (perhaps jumping on them for an extra boost?).

Keep working on getting the looks of it right because the shader and high contrast can be confusing. That´s just my opinion on it.

Thanks for your opinion. I am aware of the issues regarding the shaders and I am addressing it for the next build. I agree with your point about the crouch button but I have got it there for a purpose *prepares generic FPS mechanics*. I'm working on the sliding mechanics and it should be ready for the next build.

What do you think of the jumping and ledge grabbing?

I will not be adding AI just yet as I'm designing and programming gameplay mechanics but eventually I will add AI ;) . I'm also working on optimising the game to be playable on all systems (at least 20fps). Did the game run well on your system? What's your computer specifications and the quality level of which you ran the game at?

The slide feature was a suggestion, I know it´s an early alpha. I assumed it was a placeholder but I thought it would be nice to be able to slide. I couldn´t notice the ledge grabbing or I confused it with "sticking" to the wall (common collision issue in games XD). Maybe since I had the ability to jump very high it was more practical to me to jump over something and didn´t notice that there was ledge grabbing. I will give it another try sometime later.

About the performance, you reminded me about it, it was something I forgot in my previous post. I had a lot of lag while looking to the city or in between the buildings. I don´t know what was provoking it and I have a reasonably good computer. Theres something that needs to be optimised with the buildings.

PC specs:
AMD phenom II x6 2.80 GHz
RAM: 4gb
video: AMD Radeon HD 5570

The city is actually a graveyard for all computers XD. What graphic quality setting did you use? e.g. fastest, fantastic.

I think that default was "good" so I left it like that. Maybe I didn´t notice and changed it by accident but i doubt it.

Right, I will take a look and I will optimise the game for the next build.

Thanks for your feedback.

Anyone else tested the game?
