Do you know a game with similar idea? | Locked | |

I'm thinking about making an indie game and want to know if there's maybe one with similar idea. Idea: A platform game, if you can't a see the line between an object and background (e.g. when they have the same colour), that object disappears. And you're a guy with a bucket of paint to get through all the puzzles, enemies etc. and explore the world. I'm not asking if you like that idea, just if you know a game like that. I know one called Closure with similar idea (what is not lighted, doesn't exist). Edited by: Jantomedes |

Ok, now I'm also asking if you like that idea :-) |

It seems like it could have potential. Work on fleshing the idea out and gameplay, then present it here to see if anyone would be interested in helping you create the game. |

Not at all. Look down:
The game is 2d platformer using parallax effect and where you can't see the line between an object and the background that object disappears. For example we have a green zombie next to red background somewhere on our way and we don't want him there. We can paint ( = spill out the paint out of our bucket) the background behind the zombie to the green to make zombie disappear or we can paint the zombie to the red to make him disappear. If the player is e.g. all black except of hist belt which is violet and when he walks next to a violet background he's sliced on two halves. |

With that clarification, I really love the idea of this game. What skills do you have to start this game? |

now it's also clear to me, sounds interesting indeed. I hope you can keep up coming with those ideas all along the game -> $$$ |

Well, knowing some Java (I made a Sudoku game once), a huge book about C#, Eclipse and sister studding at the Academy of Fine Arts. I also have a little funding about 10€. Yeah, that's all... But yeah, I'll have to work on it for many years, I'll need to read lot of books, and learn lot of stuff. Why you ask? ;-) |

I was just wondering what skills you had. Funding isn't something you should be worrying about right now, but once you get a little ways into the game, you could launch a kickstarter campaign to help fund the game. Another good thing for the indie community is going to be the PlayStation 4 because it will have self-publishing on the PlayStation Store. Sony is offering lots of indie support and I definitely see this idea as something Sony and Sony gamers would love to play. If any of my skills are needed anytime down the road for this project, I'd be glad to help. I wish you the best of luck with this project! |

My skills can be found under my name. Managing, PR/Web, Tester, Writer. My Skype is JacobRollin if you would like to have me on your team . EDIT: I put together an image of the idea just to make sure I'm on the same page with you about the concept.
Is that the basic idea? Less graphic maybe, but just did this up as an example. Edited by: JacobRollin |

I'm afraid no but it's also a very neat idea.
These same-as-background parts of body of entitys disappear and don't "come back" later. You don't want to be the same colour as the background but you can use it as a weapon or to solve puzzles. |

Yeah it's great. I think OP should do a drawing to explain their idea cause I don't QUITE get it. |

I understand it pretty well, but he should definitely get some concepts done up to better clarify the idea. |
