Hey, i wunnu get into developing games just as like a hobby or possibly a side job, things like slender, just basic things. i was wondering if anyone had any advice?

For just messing about on and making simple games, then I would recommend one of the following Game Engines:

  • Game Maker (2D, CrossPlatform, Easy)
  • Unity (3D, Slender was made on this)
  • RPG Maker (Perfect for simple RPG's)

In addition to picking an engine, I would also recommend learning a scripting language such as JavaScript, Lua, Python, Ext.

Unity is great, it's what I use for my game. It's pretty easy to use once you get the basics under your belt.
