I've been thinking recently, and you don't see many good point-and-click adventure games (the Walking Dead non-withstanding) anymore. A genre that was once a mainstay for the PC gaming scene has been replaced with shooters and action games where a new sequel is released every year. My proposal is a retro point-and-click adventure game, and the setting is as follows:

Jack Hudson is a detective in the NYPD's homicide division. While Detective Hudson is out with his wife, celebrating the conviction of a murderer he caught, someone is murdered in the Bronx...and Hudson's badge is found blood-stained at the scene. Given just enough notice from one of his friends in the department, Hudson must solve the crime and avoid being captured by the police...otherwise the truth may never come clear.

Sounds like a good idea. I would love a playable point-and-click adventure again.

Well, one of the biggest faults with point-and-click adventure games is that the logic for the puzzles is so obscure. You might need a fish to open a door, for example. My idea would be to make multiple solutions for different puzzles; you might find a quarter in your pocket. You can use that to undo a screw, or you can use the screwdriver you found.
