Cyber-Punk mod? Thread

I've been thinking about alot lately of an idea for a mod project. It's been a long time (estimately about 5-6 years ago) since I first decided to make a mod project which of course went down to the crap hole. I plan on going back to the mod scene and do it right this time the way it should have been done. I have always been fascinated by the future and what it would lead for us in a few decades. Technology will evolve immensely and artificial intellegence will be something to consider about at a time when machines will do mostly everything that a man can do.

I'm aiming to make this project like any other fps mod but with immersive gameplay that will be well thought out. I like being original to an extent, especially when it comes down to playing games. A simple story will lead you directly into the battle. It will take place around 2060 in a old and improved cityscapes of our earth. Humans will have to fight for their existence against these powerful machines, teamwork and tactics will have to be executed with different classes that will complete your objectives.

Humans can bleed, and what bleeds can die while the machines are made up of materials and can be rebuilt. Ok, humans are weak, and the machines are strong so basically what I am trying to say is that each race will have their own advantages and disadvantages that will merely make each race it's own unique strategic ways.

I don't really want to put into much detail especially in a public modding forums that are viewed by many. I would like to keep my ideas in a low profile till The story and game design doc are well under wraps. My reason being to post this thread is intemetly to find a person interested of this idea that I am willing to share with and create with from the beginning to the end. Willing to look for someone that can share ideas and suggest better implamentations to the mod and help me with the story and game design. Two minds in control is always better than 1.

dude, my friends are seriously just now getting into this rpg game. It sounds really fun and interesting.
I think it would make an awesome game.

CyberPunk 2.0.2.0 is perhaps the best RPG game ever. However, Mechs for humans? In the cyberpunk genre, most humans are almost totally human, with some technological addons. It's only crazies who are more machine than human, and in the CP game, they have a drawback for this. Cyberpsychosis. Also, since you talked about a computer virus, will some of this game take place in the Net?

cyberpunk rpg? didn't know their was 1. Like what I had in mind was to have some sort of 2 worlds, the net and the real world but that would be too much like matrix so I wouldn't go to far with that. The idea with the hacker class is to install a virus code into the power generator so that it can weaken the machines defense since they will be alot stronger.

oh and the mechs would be small so that the humans can get in. It can be an option. U can get out and in.It will only be able to travel outside of the environment, won't be able to go inside buildings. It can serve more as defense against the machines firepower. It can also serve in as objectives like the machines would have to destroy every single mech to complete 1 objective etc... stuff like that.

it's a cool idea, keep developing it, I don't know alot about the world or story behind cyberpunk, so i can't help you much right now.

mechs arent really cyberpunk...they are more sci-fi.

shadowrun and cyberpunk rpgs were fun as hell to play.

theres a great HL2 cyberpunk mod called Dystopia, check it out.

Yeh, dystopia - they are really on-track. Visited Valve, you know.

Dystopia, never heard of that mod before and it's looking pretty sweet. Looking forward to it.

I am still thinking about this concept idea I have for this cyberpunk mod, but if anything, before I look for a team, I want to get the story and design doc pretty much done before we start developement.

My mod is very similar, but not as adventurous as yours, it will be very simple but fun gameplay.

It is basically Humans vs Machines.

id say the best cyberpunk mod that is out is Public Enemy

it never took off, so you'd probably only be able to play it at a lan party

Yes, that was my intention all along, afterall 5 days is very old, I had to blow the dust off it.

I am looking for similar mods to mine, considering I am a coder, I might be interested in providing my services for wiredgear's idea.
