i have this idea to a mod but i dont know any thing about to make a mob.. my idea is to make a mod that take place in the good old time silent movies....I picture that it have to be in black and white and the sound have to be somethig like charlie caplin music.. and when a guns fires there will be a text box where there stands "bang" somethig like that.. |

There's already a game in development that will allow you to do various silly movie related setups. I'm sure someone on ModDB will pop in and mention the name of the game.. |

Why does everyone instantly think their own mod idea is "cool"? Why not put it out there and let other people tell you that its cool? A Keystone cops mod might be doable. Especially if you rigged it so that going in 1 door made you come out a totally different one...like they did in those movies. Could have one side be the bank robbers and the other side be the Keystone cops. You need a lot more depth to your idea before you present it. This is only 1/3 of an idea as is. --

This could work as a comic books sorta Like SINCITY or to a lesser extent FPS "13". Shades on black to white.. blood can be deep red and have text pop up when shooting or screaming orders at friends or people around you.. this could work or inspire alot more then first thought.. well done im sure someone will pick this up for use in some way.. |

well i think my ideas are cool, doesnt mean other people have to. but about the idea, i like it. i think if you used your idea with the cop idea it coudl work. im seeing some like dastardly dan music and such. i think you could run with the idea and make something kinda fun. even if its a smaller mod it could be entertaining. |

Baton in the Dark is having a Sin City style color shader (which is written and almost works ). It will have jazz music and modern weapons however. Yes, I know I run it, but the profile is very damning, and not very complete. I have got some ingame screenshots, but with me being the only team member, and a crappy modeller/webmaster, I want to get things looking better first. I will expand when the site is up. |

wow! now i am intrigued why not make a GTA3/San Andreas mod about a cop in Sin City? you can keep all the effects, make everything grayscale, just pick out certain enemies (like the yellow pedofile in the movie) with colors i know i'd get GTA just to play that picture this: everything is grayscale, deep-red blood on the floor, you are standing over a corpse with a shiny red firemans axe O_O -- |

well, sure, why make only a texture pack? i dont even see that as a real conversion. if youre gonna make something, change everything. use a totally different storyline, make a totally new city. then you make entirely different playermodels and skins, new cars, choppers. so make your own Sin City -- |

ya obviously a rip off but could look cool, ive actually never seen the movie, i was more impressed with the original idea of the silent film, but i thought the gfx idea would be kinda cool. i was just thinking the text boxes and music could give it a really different feel. but that sin city gfx could highlight things and really give it a feel that the makers could want. |

What we at Ragtag are implementing isn't really a Sin City rip-off. The post-process shader analizes the luminosity of the colours on each pixel and tones them down by whatever control the server has set. We don't have the primary colours showing up as primary colours, but we do have different levels of colour for different events, for example, if you have just been shot, you will see in full colour for about a second, and if you are nearly dead, you will see in complete grayscale. |

That's our philosophy! Keep it creative and keep it fun. We are trying to recreate the feel of the dark and gritty comic books though. So Sin City is a definite influence. More the graphics novels than the movie though. |
