Hello all! I need somebody experienced with code to help me with a test level for people to play and try out. My game is a 2D zombie killin game that's been rolling around in my head for the past year now almost and I just can't seem to find help as far as coding goes. There's unfortunately no money involved right now, but doing all the pixelated assets that I'm capable of doing for not only the test level, but for Episode 1 in it's entirety, I'd like to see if I can pitch the idea to a few people I know and perhaps get it on Indiegogo or something similar in the crowd funding scene. If anyone has the time to help out, feel free to PM me and I'll fill you in on all the details. If you'd like, we can do a trade: I do low poly modelling on the side of the busy life, but would be more than willing to model anything non-organic (because it's simply not my specialty) for whoever is interested in coding the level and what-not.

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Hey.

I am looking to make a game or make a team to make a game, so i suppose i would need someone to do the art for it. I should mention im a programmer.

What engine or what tools would you use to make this game?

This seems to be an interesting read: Thomasinterestingblog.wordpress.com. This also shows the a programmer requires more skill than is required for a coder, so a programmer would therefore be a more valuable asset to a team compared to a coder."

Hey there, Raxsta! In answer to your engine/tool question, I would leave the engine up to the coders discretion. Whatever engine that they'd be most comfortable with would suit me just fine. All I do is all the artwork for the thing :) I use GIMP to do all the assets. It's one of the only programs that doesn't try to turn me inside out to find a tool or do something special, like making the background transparent on my sprite sheets.

Game mechanics are pretty straight forward. Go into my images section in my profile to see some of the mock-up screenies i put together. It's a representation of what I see the game looking like. All I wanna do right now is have someone help me build a test level to showcase how the game would work: zombie movements, attacking, dying, some particle effects such as leaves and rain, jumping, climbing, shooting, running, ducking, that sort of thing :) I've already got a small test level drawn up, I just don't have a coder that's willing to do the work.

If you're still interested, drop me another line and I'll fill you in on any thing else you might have questions about.

Peace!
Gareth

Hello, all! Gonna be making a short video with a friend of mine to showcase some of the content for the game. We're still looking for a dedicated programmer for the game, so if anyone is interested, please check out the mock-up screenshots to see if it's something you can do. To re-iterate: I do low poly modelling, so I'd be willing to trade code for models. You code my game, and I'll model non organic stuff for you in equal value to the work you'd do for me :)

Please note: this game is intended to be HUGE. Anyone seeking more information about the game, it's mechanics, content, multiplayer, or any aspect whatsoever, need only PM me and I'll fill you in on anything you need to know. For a more concise list of features, you could also make up a sort of questionnaire for me to answer :)

Happy gaming,
Gareth

Hello, hello! Hopefully, there will be an update on screenies and maybe even a new video in the next week or two :D Life's been busy, but I'm still truckin' along with the game.
