As anyone on here should know, this is a large complaint. To fix this, allow the person to change the download location. This option would be in the right-click menu and would include manual input of the location itself. For example, instead of "C:/Program Files (x86)/Desura/Common" for every new game, allow the user to, say, download to their own, separate hard-drive (like "D:/Games").

As an added recommendation, the right-click menu would show the hard-drive and the second lowest location. For example, in the case of Steam mods, the right-click preview would be shortened to "C:/.../steamapps/sourcemods".

The common folder needs to be in the location of Desura, if you want to games to be installed into another directory install Desura in another directory.

But wouldn't it be, say, easier and less time- and space-consuming to have a manual config somewhere in the program itself? Or does Desura have to be there since that reference is deliberately fixed?

It needs to be like that, otherwise Desura wont be able to write correctly to the computer.
