Hi everyone. This is my first time on IndieDB so please forgive me if I stumble along with what I'm going to say.

My name is Rachel. I'm an artist who works in 2D and 3D, though what I'm going to describe would be almost exclusively 2D work which is what I prefer. I'm as savant as it gets with art vs code and thus I'm looking for a programmer to work with.

A year ago now, more than two years worth of work was put into a 'game' in the world called Second Life that was meant to be a lot more than it turned out to be. In a sense, it crashed and burned but not for lack of trying. The person I originally was going to work with proposed working together and told me things that turned out to be incredibly false and, to put it simply, he failed to deliver. A replacement programmer was found though he was reluctant from the get-go to work on the project. The project was rushed to 'completion' to meet a deadline and it ended up, thanks to Second Life's short comings, we couldn't do what we wanted to do and the project was stopped.

It's taken me the better part of the year to feel like it's time to get back up on the horse and try again where I should've and wanted to be trying in the first place. Where is that? Android, Unity or simply a website.

I would very much like to reinvent the project that couldn't be finished to fruition in Second Life.
The project was originally called Booshies - Booshies.com
Please excuse the crudeness of the website as I threw most of it together myself. The art of the characters themselves is also not ideal; again thanks to the short comings of Second Life and the crudeness of the media I was forced to work with.

The idea I envision for a new version of this project (and by all means, the name can totally be changed. I'm not married to it!) is more along the lines of a card collecting PVP and PVE tower defense game. It might sound weird, but after playing a ton of stupid games on my phone and growing up with pokemon, digimon, monster rancher, etc. I feel like this is what I was meant to be doing. I'd ultimately like to see it work on Android or the web, perhaps with Unity as the engine. I realize iPhone is a big deal but... I'm not a fan of Apple or the fees it costs to work on their platform.

This would be a casual side project for quite some time. I've been through the ringer with a number of programmers and I'd like to find the right person I can work with personally to make this happen. It's more important to me that we get along working together than this happen in any amount of time, so I'd prefer if we just have a chat and get to know each other at first.

I'm unfortunately unable to offer any significant amount of pay upfront or discuss any sort of employment. This is a project that you'd be doing for fun. If it actually started to turn into something worth pursuing, we could look into funding options in the future.

If you have any interest in this and would care to discuss it with me further, please shoot me a message and we can talk!

Thanks!

Rachel

i could help if you made the game in pure java with a library such as lwjgl. Android runs of java so there will be little need to port. if you are interested pm me
