Hello Everyone! I'm looking for someone who can evaluate my game concept. Just take a look at the design doc and what i'm failing or missing at. I'm hoping a good game designer can look at it and give me some advice. I want someone to check it out before i submit my game to indieDB.

If you want to check it out, ill email you provided you give me your address.

Can't you just post the concept here so we can evaluate it?

It seems a bit incomplete... But what I read seems quite nice, I would suggest to not hard-code the controls though.

Hard-code? Care to explain?

Maybe @Draakhex can you tell me what I can do to improve the controls of the game

I admit iI might be usin to many keys for tthe ggame

I'll rethink the control mmapping

By hard-code I meant have the controls decided by you, it would be nice if you would just set the default ones and then give the player the possibility to edit them as they see fit (classic controls settings you see in any game, basically).

-edit-
The number of keys is fine, what I meant in case I was not clear enough is that...

While A/D for moving is the default (what you would find as soon as you run the game the first time), the player should have the possibility to change them to be two other buttons, the possibility to remap them in short.

Having a controller support would also be a bonus since some players prefer them over the keyboard/mouse.

Thanks for the advice! Any other things you would like to Pont out perhaps? Also, is there anything particularly interesting or a downer for the concept?

The rest seems fine, even if it seems a bit incomplete, for example you could have included a "Summary" of features somewhere.
By summary I mean a list of what makes your game special, and what people should except in the first release/the release.

I'm reading your design doc kidDev and from what I read (incomplete though) I'm missing some important information i.e background story, game genre and game purpose. I had to analyze the controls to figure out that your planned game is platformer with coop and stealth element

I'm not sure how coop and stealth could mix cause AFAIK sneaking is best done by one person. Though if you manage to do it then I'd like to see it :)

OTOH the description of levels are good, I get a good imagination on how things are going to be there

Also, the coop concept sounds cool, regardless of stealth debate.

I'll try and make the coop and stealth concept to life. It's gonna go through a lot of tweaking and possibly making the game have split screen but i won't give up on the concept just yet.

The background story isn't complete but I'll try to get all the documents uploaded soon. I'll make a new thread when I have done so.

Some of the other things are in separate documents such as how the AI will work and as mentioned, the background story including a time line.
