Misfit Children and Hypermetric Studios are proud to announce our flagship title, Archive, Memoria Technica!

The game is a top-down dual-stick shooter in the tradition of Robotron: 2084 or Geometry Wars, coupled with the strategic customization of a tower defense game.

You play as a single ship, the Codex, arming yourself with a huge, customizable array of devastating floating weapons platforms, and attempting to warn Earth of an impending invasion. You choose where to place the weapons on the ship, how to angle them, and how to upgrade them through a branching tech tree. These platforms can then be fired manually or given over to AI control and dropped around the map to give you strategic control of the environment.

Replayability is a key feature in Archive, and so in addition to the huge number of combinations of customizable weapons you control, our adaptive AI enemy spawning system ensures that gameplay feels freshly challenging in your first or fiftieth game.

The game is themed around something fascinating as well, a 2500-year-old Hindu text called the Bhagavad Gita, a poem about the choices you make in warfare, and the nature of life and death. Almost everyone knows it for the line “I am become Death, destroyer of worlds”. The game’s story, lore, and music are all themed around the Gita and Hindu mythology.

Our team is small, just two developers working fulltime on the project. Will Carducci is our programmer, and Randy Orenstein is our artist and designer. We have been working out of pocket on this project for two years, and are now running an Indiegogo campaign to help us finish the game.
