Okay, Frosty here with another interesting idea. Many people seemed to like my previous mod idea, so I decided to come up with another. Once again, it is designed to be used with the Far Cry engine (CryTek), because of the large environments, multitudes of enemies and extreme customizability. Anyone here remember an old game? Goes by the name of X-COM: UFO Defense (although some others may know it as UFO: Enemy Unknown). It was an awesome game for it's time, absolutely brilliant. It was a tactical-level unit strategy game much like Jagged Alliance and the recent S2: Silent Storm, where the player had command over his units in a turn-based battle. In addition to this, it had an RTS-esque element where the player constructed bases and recruited new units, or researched alien technology and shot down UFOs on a 3D map of the world (known as the GeoScape). Well, that's the setting folks. It is approaching the year 2000, and Alien sightings are increasing rapidly. So the UN declare that a multi-national defense force be organised to respond to threats all across the globe. X-COM, the extraterrestrial combat unit is born. --- This X-COM mod would: - Be single-player only - Soldier: This career path would appeal to fans of FPS. The player starts off as a private and battles the alien invaders on the streets and take the battle back to the Alien homeworld. As the game progresses, the player earns skills and grow as X-COM grow. I'll post more later, but really, this is an interesting idea I have and to post it all would take three pages (!). --

Copyright? HA! Tell me then, which company owns the copyright? Each company who brought Micropose sold them until eventually Micropose was closed down. I'm going to post a rough Design Document tonight. --

I wasn't making fun or anything, I was laughing at how the copyrights of the X-COM series have been handled. Hasbro, famous for their Monopoly, decided to close down one of Micropose's studios, and in the end two of the best new X-COM games were cancelled, and the atrotious Enforcer was released. Come to think about it, sounds sort of like how Interplay handled BIS, and shutdown Fallout 3 in favour of the console F:BOS. Anyways, I e-mailed Atari about it, just out of curosity (I did the same thing to Blizzard asking whether they would make another Blackstone sequel, and they really didn't find it funny . For those of you who don't remember it, don't worry, it was released in 1993 or thereabouts), and also to ask them about other copyrights that I am not at liberty to divulge, and Mr. Curry, an employee of Atari, has fortunately decided to see what the Legal Team thinks about it.
It was an idea. Really, I couldn't make this mod. I was just tossing around some ideas.
That I am doing. --
