About the Game

Alchemic Reaction is a Multiplayer total conversion for Half-Life 2 set in the early 1900’s on an alternate plane of reality. During this time there is much hostilities between a government facilitated organization known as the State Alchemists and the people of the land.

Alchemic Reaction is based partially upon the anime known as Full Metal Alchemist, but will still bring a lot of new content and ideas to the table.

Game Features

- Fast-paced and well-balanced fighting system that makes an equal blend between alchemic fighting and traditional melee/ranged weaponry.

- An Introduction of a first to the Source Engine, Alchemic Powers which function similar to casting magical spells

- Weaponry and other various items will be able to be crafted from scraps found throughout the map.

- Some character classes will be able to maintain special abilities such as using alchemic powers to forge weaponry or use special abilities to mask their identities

- Teamwork will be vastly emphasized.

- Multiple game modes ranging from Deathmatch, CTF, or even King of the hill

What this mod is:

A game that will allow players to take on the roles of either a State Alchemist, a soldier, a homunculus, or a rebel member.

This mod will deliver a combination of unique gamestyle while still maintaining the traditional gameplay.

What this mod isn't:

- A Midevil wizards style mod.

My Qualifications, Experience, and What I Will Do

Project Lead
I am going to be taking lead of the project and see it through its development. I have run several teams in other areas before and will be there to keep everyone on task and to be sure that the modification is staying on course and is true to my original vision.

Public Relations
I will work as the project’s Public Relations and help to promote the modification to the gaming community. I will of course listen to suggestions and help answer any questions from the community because it is in fact that the community is who makes the mod.

Limited Concept Artist
While I personally am not an artist I will be able to provide sketches, albeit poorly drawn, as to the ideas I have for specific areas of the game.

General idea man and resource provider
I have seriously more ideas then the engine itself can probably handle. And that’s what I want to do. Try to push the game to its limits while still providing a balanced style of gameplay. I will be providing all the information necessary to see the project through to its completion.

Coder
I am currently making my way through college to obtain my Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems and with the information I have learned over the years I will also present myself as a member of the programming sub-team.

Who I Am Looking to Recruit

To be straight forward I am looking for people who have the dedication to take a dream and make it a reality. Those interested in applying should like the idea of the game and want to see it through to its end.

Members of the team need to be able to help one another to see the desired end result. Members will also need to be able to take criticism of their work. If its one thing that I have seen kills a team and their morale faster then raid on a roach is people who are unable to take criticism.

And this should go without saying, but only the mature need apply.

Coder: I am looking for a few experienced coders. You should have a working knowledge of the Source Engine and it’s limitations as we will be pushing them as far as we can.

Modelers/Animators: Modelers must be able to create detailed models with low polycounts. Animators will need to be able to create a wide range of realistic animations. Dedication is an absolute must here.

Mappers: I am looking for mappers who will be able to create detailed maps that will be like no others seen in the valve community thus far. Maps will range from outdoor to indoor, desert to forests. You must be well versed with hammer.

Texture artists and skinners: Texture Artists and Skinners will need to be able to produce high quality realistic products.

Concept Artists: You will need to be able to create detailed drawings based upon my extremely poor sketches that I will attempt to provide you with. The sketches will need everything from weaponry to maps

Sound Engineer: Be able to create sound effects. Being able to create original music is a plus.

Now here's an anime someone should've made a mod out of. The game sucked, but this looks kind of promising, despite asking for every team member out there (I think it's nice that you're a coder, though, since that will help you out quite a lot). Let's just say you'll be lucky enough to find one coder anywhere, but with a popular anime such as this, it won't be too difficult.
