Aaru's Awakening - indie game Thread

Hey guys
My name is Johann and I'm the Marketing Director of the indie game Aaru's Awakening. The game is a project of Lumenox - an Icelandic based start-up video game developer. The game is a very ambitious project of ours - but as with other indie projects we do not have a real marketing budget. So we're hoping to get in contact with gamers in an efficient manner, like on video game forums, Facebook and Youtube.

Aaru's Awakening is a 2D action platformed where players take control of Aaru. The gameplay revolves around completing missions and exploring the world of Lumenox using Aaru's mobile skills; teleportation and charging. The game takes place in the world of Lumenox which is set up of four worlds - Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night. As Night starts to destroy the balance between these four worlds, Dawn sends it's champion - Aaru - to travel to Night's domain and restore the balance.

The games graphics are hand drawn by Danish artists. This is something that we are very proud of and we think the game looks very unique. I put in artwork from the game to give you a feel of it. You can also visit our website (Lumenox.is) and download our demo, which you can also find on Steam Greenlight.

In the link you can find the demo for both PC and Mac. Just keep in mind that this is an early alpha demo, we've progressed miles in gameplay since, and the demo doesn't consider a learning curve so it might be a but frustrating

Hey, I've just tried the game and looks interesting. The art is unique and beautiful. I also liked the idea of shooting + teleporting and I think the gameplay could become really good. For me, however, the second level was a bit difficult, couldn't get timing right (after I managed to get through the acid lake) and I had some issues with the controls as well (I know the game is under development).

With some balancing and fixing the controls it can become a pretty good game.

Thanks for the reply! This alpha demo is very hard as it doesn't offer the learning curve that the full version does. We have made big improvements on that and focused a lot on designing the levels so that the player learns how to play the game and become better.

Hope you guys are up for some more screenshots. We're releasing our trailer next week and I thought it would be cool to get some feedback from some teaser screens. The trailer is built on of the games four domains (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) - Day. How do you like the look and the feel of it ?
