Hehe. I was bored so don't think this is a shitty idea. I've played Zork, Myst, Riven, and Myst3. And they all had colorfull, well detailed, prerendered pictures you get to navigate through. But what if the same colorful detailed graphics can be in real time, with real graphics. I would love to plan to make a Myst themed mod for HL2. What do you all think?

Hrmmm ... from what I remember, Zork was hardly colourful ... rather, dark and moody.

Now, I don't think you'd be able to re-create the stunning wrapped pre-rendered images, as in Myst (et al.) in real time, with the 3D engines of today. But the gap is indeed narrowing, hence games such as Myst3 are really lacking the "wow" factor of their predecessors.

The entire genre bores the hell out of me ... however there was some nice work demonstrated during its hayday.

well actually have you played realMYST. Its a full 3d game which actually looks better than the game itself. Ive never played it but it looks good.
I guess I can portray zork as being the more horror aspect of a yet graphical mod. I don't think that experiencing full 3d in a more realistic enviroment boring. Though myst 1,2,3 are not full 3d, yet. But in the haydays, that was called one of the most realistic games of the time. Now its my turn to make a fun mod for people to play. I don't want it to be serious or too funny or kiddy. I want to make it balanced. but do you get my drift.

yeah, well when I never beaten Riven=Myst 2. It is a stinkin 6 cds. But Maybe i can fix that problem, with more action and more exploration, than very very complex puzzles. Do you think that sounds better.

I've talked with god, and he says that the way of the myst is the way of pain. So then I told him that I'll fix it. So I did.....Well not yet. But soon.
