Hello all!

A few months ago I had a huge surge of inspiration for my dream game. I don't want to give away too many details, but the game will be in the metroidvania genre, featuring a character that will embark upon their journey, mastering spells and abilities by gathering pages from an ancient tome. Spell casting will be a huge part of the gameplay, but melee combat will also be implemented.

The project is still in the planning stages. I have my ideas for gameplay mechanics written down in a design document, and I'm currently working on the spell design and mechanics document. I do have one person working with me already. He is working on some scripting for the rudimentary gameplay systems.

The game will feature 2D artwork. Think of a mix between Symphony of the Night and Dust: An Elysian Tale.

Musically, I've always been inspired by the work of Michiru Yamane, the brilliant composer of Symphony of the Night. As such, I'd like the score to have the same feel to it. If you would like to hear what I'm envisioning, you can check out a few of the tracks I'm thinking about using in the game by following the soundcloud link I've provided below. The relevant tracks would be "Chapel in the Dark", "Marble Travesty", "Cascade", and "Harpsichord Minuet".

This game has been a dream of mine for a few years now, and as such I'm treating it with the utmost care and respect, and I expect anyone wishing to help me with it to give it the same consideration. PLEASE BE AWARE that I cannot pay anyone. This is strictly volunteer stuff, but I have absolutely no qualms with offering compensation with any revenue the game may accrue once finished.

If you are interested in the project, please send me a message either here or my email address (I'm pretty sure I have it listed). Once I'm certain you are a good fit for the project and are serious about this project, we can discuss more details, you can give me feedback, and we can set up a time to meet as a team.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for your time, and keep those gaming passions alive!

You know, I feel embarrassed that I only just realized that this thread is meant more for discussions of ideas rather than recruitment, so I'm gonna go ahead and apologize for misusing this part of the forum and repost this on the proper page. Sorry about that!
