This is an initial release of my PS2 to PC Half-Life port.
All resources such as maps, models, sounds, music, sprites, decals, and skyboxes were ported directly from PS2 Half-Life.
This mod also features custom DLL that includes all crucial PS2HL entities: "item_healthcharger", "item_recharge", "item_eyescanner", "item_generic", "env_warpball", "trigger_playerfreeze" and "trigger_random".
=== Requirements ===
- Windows XP is minimal supported OS
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package is probably needed to play the mod
=== Installation ===
WON and Xash3D:
1) Put "ps2hl" folder in the Half-Life directory
2) Start Half-Life
3) Go to "Custom game", select "PS2 Half-Life", press "Activate" button
* On the first start Xash3D can crash at step 3, just keep repeating steps 2-3 it until it works or
try launching the mod with "Play_PS2_Half-Life.bat" file located in "ps2hl" folder
Steam:
1) Put "ps2hl" folder in "...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life"
2) Launch (or restart if running already) Steam, you should see "PS2 Half-Life" entry in games list
3) Launch "PS2 Half-Life"

Отличный порт. Кстати, на уровне Xen, в самом начале, с островка игрока сразу телепортирует на финальный остров.
Упс, действительно косяк. Я почему-то думал, что так на плойке и должно быть, но сейчас проверил - нет. Похоже этот телепорт предназначен для Alien mode. Надо будет разобраться.
Да, у этого телепорта мастером стоит "trigger_player_islave", а поскольку такой энтити нет, то он начинает работать сам по себе.
Ok. а модом можно заменить оригинальную папку(valve) в стиме? Когда я пытался портировать(не этот порт), был рассинхрон с некоторыми оригинальными текстурами(он их не находил в halflife.wad) и некоторыми моделями, но, в целом, карты и обновленные зарядные устройства/аптечки работали.
Не могу сказать, я не пробовал такого делать. В стим версии были проблемы с 3 картами, я их поменял на PCшные: c2a2b1, c2a3c, c2a3e. Если убрать папку valve, то на этих картах могут вылететь некоторые текстуры. Ну а в файлах оригинальных PS2 карт из коробки, вроде, прописаны только 3 WADа: hlps2.wad, gbx1.wad и decals.wad, они не должны пострадать.
so if this is running on Xash dosnt that mean I can just install and unzip it into a file and play it from there?
This mod can be installed as any other Half-Life mod. Xash3D works as WON version of HL: unzip and copy "ps2hl" folder to where the "valve" folder is located, run hl.exe, then go to "Custom game" and select "PS2 Half-Life" entry, then press "Activate".
How does this compare to the old "High Definition Source" mod?
HDS is for HL: Source. This mod has nothing to do with Source or HL: Source. And HDS as far as I know focused on porting of PS2 models only (not entities and not other resources).
I would abs love to add in to HL, OpF, and Bshift the ps2 eye scanner, HEv charger and health station, would it be possible for you to show or release the custom DLL that adds them in?
