Ever felt like Extreme difficulty is not enough? Think that rubberbanding is wrong and cheaty way to increase difficulty? Try this collection of tweaks to Race Driver: Grid's AI parameters.
The main feature of this mod is a complete removal of catch-up at higher difficulty settings. I left it at lower difficulty to help players who want a more relaxed experience.
The AI has been stiffened up, they drive faster and more aggressively while still trying to avoid major deadlocks. In Istanbul park Touring car events, which were my focus, cars crash less during the first left corner, and on average finish the lap 3-4 seconds faster than in original game. Also, this no longer depends on your personal lap time.
Choreographed events should not immediately remove opponents from the race. Instead, they are turned into actual driving mistakes and will worsen their lap time a bit. Just for fun, retired drivers are not removed from the track. Be safe out there.
In other areas mainly cornering speeds are increased and driving safety is lessened. Because the AI drivers now drive quicker, I doubled the number of laps in each event. This is optional.
To install, copy "ai" folder into the game's folder, replacing the files. To double the lap amount, also copy the "database" folder, replacing the files.
Please let me know if we can change the AI players name, also team names
Good work, AI isn't using cheating catchup and it's behaviour in corners is much much better tahn in vanilla game. Thanks man for reasonable modification.
this is great
it's not making ai as god
wonderful mod
Hi - Why is it that there are double the number of files in this, with every file having another copy of itself? Every second one with the same name also has an extra '.xml' in it (making it "name.xml.xml") and all of those with the same name have different file-sizes.
Are both needed or should I use one set of them?... I don't even know if those with the double ".xml" will work. Perhaps those are backups or something.
Then again, none of them seem to have the exact same size as the originals I have, so perhaps those extra files are connected or something.
