the modding tools for SWGB
contains:
- Mod editor
- DRS viewer
- Mod installer
- Ocx Files (required to mod)
I did not made these .exe files
I'm just sharing
to make your first mod:
- copy the files from the ocx folder to your "C:\WINDOWS\system32\" folder
- open "DRS viewer.exe" and click "file / open"
- click: "...\LucasArts\Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga\Game\Data\GRAPHICS.DRS"
- search the image you want to edit and click: Extract / extract this file ...
- now open "Modeditor.exe" and click "File / new"
- save your project and click "Add new"
- open the file you just extracted
- click convert to SLX
- edit the image files
- when done click Convert to SLP
- save the project
- add a file named "Readme.txt" in the mod folder
- click "Project / Compile as MPI"
- save the MPI file
to play:
- open the ModInstaller.exe
- click "Open mod"
- install
- DONE!

LOL. How old is this game? If anyone does take up modding this oldie, he'd have to do some hellish imbalancing first, then rebalancing to make this game interesting again. ALL units are just different models of one another. What a deadpan it is.
Err, there are RPG games made out of just the SCENARIO EDITOR for the game. Not even using mod tools (to my knowledge). There are also scenarios with health packs to step on, and improved graphics and unit addons are also available.
And there are many of us who enjoyed this game, despite Lucas Arts' disregard for that fact.
I uploaded the tools so people could just play with it, just becouse it is sooooooo simple.
and who doesn't enjoy good old age of empires style games?
(from 18+ i mean then)
Age of Empires 2 and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds were the first games I ever played at about 6 years old, and I still occasionally enjoy them... although I am here because I just last night got a hold of SWGB and Clone Campaigns after a long absence, had to replace the copy and installation. PS: Currently I am 17.
I'm having issues downloading the mod. I download it, move the select files to the system32 folder, but when i click on the viewer, it says a file is missing or invalid. Also when i click on mod installer it says it could not find SWGB. Please help!
Use admin mode to open viewer
I got a quick question. For some mods that say (incomplete) next to them, how do I get rid of those? It bothers me that I can't get rid of them.
