Whoa... that was unexpected. Well now we can finally say that Deus Ex is preserved (graphics wise) for the future generations!
With this and the hdtp, it looks like an unreal engine 2 game!

When I tried to run the game with the new mod, it opens a critical error window saying "Can't find files for package 'Effects'". Any solutions?

Are you guys using Steam, or CD version of DE? Is it patched with 1112?
Rudorlf might be corruption while downloaded, redownloading might fix it.

Ok another problem. I've managed to installed it, but once I run the game, the main menu have no text, and when i tried 'New game' at any settings and done the character customization, it flashed a 1/4 second mesasge stating "Failed launching URL. Can't find file for package 'CoreTexDetail'" and revert back to the Eidos intro.

I've installed this thing, made sure the New Vision textures are selected in the launcher, made sure the .ini fix is there (followed the readme), and the new textures still aren't displaying for me. I'm running XP with a Geforce 8400 GS card. Any ideas on why this isn't working?
I have the same problem... did everything told in the readme ...but grafics arent displaying dosent matter if opengl or directx 10.. some help would be nice

Great Work. Never played the first 2 Deus Ex games but I just grabbed them and intalled this mod asap. Thanks. Was curious though, if the text and item menus can be made any bigger? I'm playing on 1920 x 1080 and they are so small i can hardly read it. I suppose I could turn down the res but I like it like this and figured there might be way to change it. I'm also a total mod noob, so I don't really know anything about editing files and such. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again

Very good work, makes the Deus Ex experience more easy on the eyeballs, i have to ask the question though... Are you ever planning to Re-tex the characters/Meshes?
No - but some of the characters and most of the other models are being covered by Project HDTP, which I have contributed to.
Is this save game compatible? Do I need to uninstall the previous version of New Vision?
It is savegame compatible, and the installer will remove the old version for you.

For whatever reason I cannot begin the Paris phase of the game. I get the error "Failed launching URL, can't find file 10_Paris_Entrance." I looked in the map files of HD/NewVision/ and Revision and it's not anywhere. Tried re validating/reinstalling and it isn't even in the original GOTY either.
Any ideas where the hell this file is? It's right after you meet Dowd in the Mausolineum/cemetery and are about to go to Paris.
This is quite a late reply but for the some that have the same problem - it's not New Vision's fault or either HDTP. Revision clearly started that the demo does not include later map locations from the Mausolineum.
So we'll have to wait for the full version of Revision which is releasing in late-March.
Would you recommend I download New Vision now or wait for Revision? (Revision seems to have more content). Or can I have both?

Got New Vision v1.5 up and running. Overall things look great. However, I noticed that most of the game's text and menu items are too small to read when running at higher than 1280 x 1024 resolution. Is there any method for "scaling" the game's fonts to appear larger when running higher ( e.g. 1600 x 1200 ) resolutions?

Doesn't work after 2 days reading posts and manuals etc...
Updated with patch 1112fm, installed the c++ redistributable 2010 x64, then installed the New Vision mod, but at the end, everytime the c++-file msvcp100.dll shows problems. Have downloaded the file again from the ddl-download-site, register it whit "regsvr32.exe msvcp100.dll" but every tim there's the same error whit the msvcp100.dll ... I think i have to give up this project... ?!!
What can i do to solve this problem? Sam
Update: ok, i'm soo sorry... but i was very confused about this problem... but now IT FINALY WORKS and i'm SO HAPPY about this! WOW!!
(Solution: I have delete all parts of the game, the patch and the mod, an reinstall it in the "correct" order: DX, patch, C++ in both Version x86 AND x64 [i have Vista64bit] and finaly the New Vision Mod) AND IT WORKS!!

I'm having some issues installing this. I've tried opening it in winrar, and otherwise have just downloaded it several times, but all that's come up is the same thing, windows asking exactly what I want to open it with. Could someone help?
this mod's great but it's lack for height map can anyone tell me the tutorial for creating bumpmap and heightmap for this game?
I bought the game recently and one of the things holding me back were not that the game looks bad, it was that the old graphics make playing it confusing. I hope this and high definition texture pack makes it easier.

Download the installer and use 7zip to extract it.

Where do I extract this to? It didn't have any exe. file when I did extract it and nothing happened. Obviously I am doing it wrong.

Damn, you caught me. The truth is, I traveled back in time to install a BitCoin miner in an executable compiled over 2 years ago - which has remained undetected until Avast flagged it. Damn again.
Or, you might consider that after 120,000 downloads and no reports of malicious behavior by the executable, that this is a false positive.
