Included in version 1.6 :
- Retextured skybox, skylines and buildings (interior and exteriors).
- Reworked contrast and fog.
- Realistic IA : Enemies aren't bullet sponges anymore. Their strengh is rely on equipment (ex:Armor), their weapons, their movements and aiming speed which depends of their weight, who they are (ex: boss or common enemy NPCs...).
- More decals (cartridges, bullet impacts...) are displayed.
This mod doesn't try to make Max Payne 1 HD, still :
It improves how the game looks by replacing the skybox and the textures of the buildings as well as the water textures.
NEW FEATURES in version 1.6 :
1) Textures in the tutorial level have been replaced by better ones. Also, some textures used on the buildings exterior have been reworked.
2) Gameplay tweaks : Powerful weapons like the shotguns can now take out the characters who don't wear bullets proof armor with a single shot when used from a close distance.
Returning from version 1.5 :
1) New York Distant City Lights : Reworked all skylines to make it feels like the environment is really New York. The night sky isn't pitch black anymore and there are now some stars, the moon, when visible is in 3D and of well better quality, and most importantly, a lots of 2D buildings, fake 3D buildings and/or city lights can be seen in the distance, including some well known New York buildings.
2) Perspective : Better distance management when it comes to the buildings textures (like for example, the size of the windows look more realistic) + Concret, carpet, tiles, ... textures look more realistic (reflection, materials, etc...)
3) Textures Equalizer (In the game, the textures are often availables in several resolutions. In fact, when the game was released back in 2001, to make it run on most computers, the game's developpers used lower versions of textures in some maps in order to make them not too heavy... and so playable. The version 1.5 of the mod replaced the low resolution textures in the maps which use them by their medium resolution textures equivalents = So, when it comes to theses textures, replacing them by their original medium resolution version increases their quality in a way which is better than what you could obtain with the (excellent) Max Payne Remastered mod.
Returning from earlier versions of the mod :
4) The contrast and fog have been set in a way which increases the (very old) shadow effects so they look a little bit better.
5) The actions of the player and NPCs have more impacts on the playable areas and more bullets, cartidges, blood, etc... are displayed on the walls, grounds or ceilings.
6) The mod Noir York City also makes Max Payne 1 a little bit more realistic as it changes the IA too :
- Now, all characters die if they get headshoted, including the player. Enemies npcs who have an armor can take a lot of shots to the chest, characters who are fat move slower, boss moves and aim faster, etc...
- The player (Max Payne) isn't invulnerable anymore when he is jumping in slow motion : Before, he would take damage but never die. With the mod, if he is hit by a bullet, he dies (just like the enemies NPCs do). As a result, now jumping around in slow motion may not always be the best strategy anymore.
With theses changes, the game's upper difficulty modes (Hard Boiled and Dead on Arrival) don't rely on bullet sponges enemies anymore but they rely on this : The player can takes a little bit less shots to the chest, the bullet time is consumed more rapidely and its recovery is slower and less ammos are found (so going for headshots may be necessary in some areas, otherwise you may end up without ammos).
- Also, when the player falls into the sea in the second part of the Docks level, he doesn't bleed anymore like he does in the unmodded game.
NB : It is possible to install only the new textures, only the skybox and distant 2D buildings or only the Realistic IA. What files correspond to what is indicated in the file INSTALLATION.TXT

For the moment, I have only made a youtube video about the visual changes.
Just note that the video on Youtube looks darker than when you play ingame.

is this mod uses Max Payne Rechambered?
No.The weapons haven't been modified at all. What have been changed are : the characters stats (which depends on their weight, training, armor, if they are bosses,...), the rarity of bullets in the Hard Boiled and Dead on Arrival difficulties, the damage bonus for headshots (which has been increased), also now the player isn't immune when jumping around in slow motions (so when playing with the mod, jumping around whil shooting isn't always the best choice anymore and it is often - but not always - more rewarding to stand your ground, slow down the time and aim for the head).
