Mage's Cross is a small village east of Anvil supplying the player with a new player home and a home town.
By Antiscamp for Oblivion
Your Aunt has passed away and left you her old house as an inheritance. She thinks you should have it, since you spent your childhood summers in the village of Mage's Cross. The village is located in the lush grasslands east of Anvil and it will be added to your map. Go to the Chapel and take the house key from the altar, to enter your house which is right beside the chapel itself.
There is nothing inbalancing with this mod and I tried to keep it as lore-friendly as possible. There are no quests and there are no new armours and weapons. This is just a player home with a picturesque village around. There is a trader and a smith in the village, who do business during the days, and several other NPC's as well, including a garrison of guards. The townsfolk gather at the Black Cat Inn during the evenings. There is also some dialogue.
This mod is a part of an expanding mod-project of mine, which I call "Small Town Cyrodiil", which will add several more of these kinds of simple villages for the player to use as home town. There is nothing as rewarding as returning to your small home town after a big and hard adventure; hear the wind in the trees of home, hear those familiar voices and find that life is still silently going on as usual back home while things are changing rapidly out there in the big world.
INSTALLATION
Put the .esp in your Oblivion Data folder. To uninstall, just remove the .esp from there.
DEPENDENCIES AND INCOMPATIBILITIES
Shivering Isles required. Mage's Cross uses only vanilla elements to build the village. It is incompatible with OOO right now, but there will be a future patch. This mod is fully compatible with UL. To enjoy the dialogue, Silent Voice is recommended.
PERMISSIONS
You are free to upload this mod to anywhere you like, include Mage's Cross in your own mods, and feel free to improve on it however you want as well. Just give me some credit, and a PM if you do!
This mod is provided as-is. I, as creator, cannot be held responsible for any damage this mod does to your computer. Use it at your own risk and backup your saved games before doing so. A lot of effort has gone into keeping the mod clean. To prevent any possible damage caused to saved games, Mage's Cross has been cleaned with TesEdit.
Enjoy your new home town. :)
