Hey did someone forget to update the build number on this thing?
Because no matter how I install it,
it always says “Built: 05/05/19” below the main menu.

How do install this? Is it meant for gog or steam version? Ive tried to extract it in my install folder...it does not detect my game but installs files anyway and there is no exe. file. Any help would be appreciated?

I don't know if it works with the GoG version, but it's designed for the Steam version.
There is an executable, it's here:
"E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System\GMDXv10.exe"
When installing I had to point it to my Deus Ex folder because it doesn't auto-detect,
it just assumes...
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex".

Sorry, I cant run the game as I have no idea how to start the application. I have the GMDX 9 icon but it only runs Ver 9 not 10. I have GOTY ICON but it only runs the original. Steam only launched the original too.

I already explained this three comments ago:
"E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System\GMDXv10.exe"

No no, that's just my path.
You have to find your own path.
God, now I sound like Morpheus or something.
Don't you know where your Steam folder is?

Umm yeah, I do, it under my progam folder.
I did post I searched WHOLE of C Drive and no GMDX10.exe file. The installer did not place it there.

Where can I get it. The only way to play V10 is to keep reinstalling it and hitting PLAY on Installer window. luckily it keeps the save files from games.

That's because it's not called “GMDX10.exe”.
It's called “GMDXv10.exe”.
Look, unless you changed the path during the install,
it will be in:
\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System\

Question. I was running v9 of GMDX previously but didn't care for a lot of the arbitrary changes it made. Downloaded this largely because of that massive list of fixes and changes to balancing, and am trying it out now, but I can't get the mantling system to work after starting a new game. Mantling is set to "Enabled" from Settings, GMDX Options button in the menu but I still can't seem to mantle onto any objects. I switched back to GMDX v9 and loaded one of my savegames from that, and mantling works again. Am I missing something?

The build I have for v10 shows a build date of 8/24/19.

It has an Athletics requirement.
“Advanced” I think.

........this I did not even think to check. I must have missed that in the gigantic rebalancing list. Thanks for the response!

I encountered an issue, although I'm not sure I have installed it correctly or not.

The New Vision Texture Pack toggle option doesn't work for some reason. And there are some missing textures that are supposed to be included in New Vision too.

MessageLog:"Sorry for the late reply. The new vision option not working is not a known issue but will be added to the issues list. Do you know of any missing textures? It is known that some textures in NewVision do not exist with the intended name or texture group causing breakages. The NewVision in v10 has been amended to not break with vanilla maps. No textures are known to be missing at this time."

I'm extremely sorry if this question is something you answer constantly, but if you would please include the item and actor names that you included in your mod I would appreciate it not just today, but every single day I continue to enjoy the work you put forward in the community. I like to use the cheat console to vary up gameplay and even break the game at times, it would be great to know the item ids for the Rate of Fire Mods and the Selective Fire Mods, possibly even the ammo, I feel like if this is added to the wiki or the mod homepage or notes it would help a lot, this information is harder to find than certain conspiracies!

moddb folks,

After installing GMDX and attempting to run it I get three error messages. The error messages are the code execution cannot proceed because Core.dll was not found, and Window.dll (in a 2nd error message), and Engine.dll (in a 3rd).

My system specs are Win10, core i5, 8GB RAM, Intel HD graphics 5500.

Let me know if you need additional info.

I'm looking forward to your reply!

Ivan

Make sure you can run regular Deus Ex first.
Then verify the files through Steam.
Then make sure GMDX is in the right location.

I was running GMDX v9 first with Kentie's well known patch. As per the instructions,I installed v10 over it, but got those errors.

By regular DX you mean a previous version, correct?

I wouldn't be installing it over anything.
What's probably happened is you've overwritten the v9 files with the v10 files,
then run the game, which generated new files
which couldn't exist in that folder
because they won't overwrite the old generated files of the same names.
Either that or Kentie's patch just messed with those files.
Unless you want to keep playing v9 (and there's really no reason to),
I'd suggest just wiping everything,
making sure you can play the Steam version of Deus Ex, (verify through Steam)
then installing GMDX v10.

Is there a way to play v10 without Steam? What if you already have a working version of Deus Ex Game of the Year but you don't need Steam to run it?

OK, everything's fine now - it turned out that I was selecting the wrong installation folder (the default). So, now I'm enjoying v10!

Thanks, anyway!
