so i'm running it out of the OpenFC folder with OpenFC.exe but i haven't noticed any changes from vanilla apart from the console text on loading in. am i doing something wrong ?
edit: nvm, i'm dumb. had to actually load the mod first. still crashes on loading into a sp game.
edit 2: can't load into anything, not even create a mp game.

Did you correctly install the mod ? You needed just put 2 folders (mods and openfc) in game folder as it is, and then launch the game via OpenFc(you can just go to Mods/FCAV/game.bat). Also, if you have old machine PC, it may crashes due we added more threads in the game, and it is not for Intel Pentium, where are two cores and two threads(it is like example).
Other reason of crashing is not enough of RAM.
Minimum you should have 8gb(although we did not make 64 bit).
Yeah, it's installed correctly. My PC is pretty recent and has 32GB of RAM, so i doubt it's that.

I tried it on my uplay and GOG version of FC, both version 1.4
Yep, your specs are ok, same and folder structure is ok.
Also, if you still have some issues, try to create new profile and launch on it.
(New profile of save games). On old one from vanilla it may crashes. Also, try to reset all settings.

P.s. try to reset all setting in the game (set defaults everywhere)
Btw, can you make a video how everything goes, from launching the game to the critical exception ? Since other 99% of users did not got such errors.
UPD: Mod doesn't launching without internet. Also check your firewall setting, that there accepted OpenFC.
i allowed OpenFC access. i can record a video, sure. gimme a minute.

Loaded in, gives me a black screen and a pop-up says: Erro: No internet connection..I'm running on GoG version.
Edit: Add OpenFC to firewall exceptions, problem still presist.
One question: I checked those mod's lua scripts, got plenty of weird random character showing, the original Farcry script doesn't have those, is it possible that's what cause the loading problem?

Also, yes, mod for now depends from internet connection. After fix - mod launches from farcry.exe, so you needed to add it to firewall exceptions.
Scripts are closed from outside interference.
They are encrypted. The reason is not them.
Follow the instruction, applied fix, nothing changes XD.
Btw, when the official release came out, does the singleplayer version require internet connection too?
Hm, it is strange, it seems there you have some troubles with inherent connection for FC1.
What about require internet connection for sp in release - no. There will be no such require.
In next alpha we will remove depending from internet connection, it will require only when you will try to connect to the server.

Ive tried extracting whole folder into root and extracting mods seperately into mods drawer and FCAV into root, running the game.bat from the "FarCry/Mods/FCAV folder.
Im doing it wrong she says lol.
It seems some files are missing in your vanilla FC1 or some of them was broken.
Try to reset language or type in vanilla FC in console: /g_Language English
After that try again. If it still not wroking, then, you can join
