The english version doesn't work though. The russian works but i don't know russian so i can't read the documents etc in game.

I'm gonna have a look at the files in the two versions and see what's what.

Maybe it might be possible to take what's working in the russian version and use it in the english version.

I've done that before to get a game working for english.

Sometime's you can just do a straight file swap ,depends on the files though.

Also just in case you're using an old game version,
"the game needs to be patched at least version 1.32."

I made a 'mods' folder and put a copy of the 2 pk3 mod files in there .
C:\games\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\mods

I went into options and clicked on mods and then launched it by double clicking on "mods" in the box on screen and it started up ok with the english words on screen.

It's been a long time since i've played mods on this game and i've totally forgotten what is the correct way but doing what i said above seems to work.

Once you start it it will make some config files in the mods folder.

p.s:
I was using a fresh install of the GOG game version.
