It's not working :(
Every time I start the game with the mod version it always crash when it reaches the "loading databases" part.
And this is also problem with the older versions.

What worked for me:
1. Having only CWE folder and CWE.mod in mod folder;
2. Clearing map cache;
3. Clearing gfx folder from Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria II

It won't run on another pc, as it crashes when loading graphics. Maybe windows is the problem? :/

Idk if it is my impression but I think migration waves have been greatly reduced, like for example, when I was playing in 1977 the greatest receptors of immigrants, just received 500 or 200 immigrants per month which I believe it is pretty low. But the thing is I just want to know if that reduction is part of the update or if my game is glictched?

500 in the immigration screen is actually the number per day so that equates to 182,500 per year (same as the Netherlands which has the 9th highest immigration rate today).

The immigration system in Vicky has a hardcoded limitation where there is a fixed cap to how many countries can receive immigrants. This makes immigrants swarm the most desirable target while the rest get virtually nothing. This can rapidly go out of hand when all of the world's immigration is to 2-3 nations so I limited emigration to literacy levels and time period.

This rapidly scales up as the decades go by and literacy levels for the high population nations rise such that you can get 2-3k plus eventually which is close to the current rate of immigration in the US (the highest in the world) today.

Wars also add a lot to the global immigration pool if there are nations losing which can also take you above the 1-2K mark.

After an early ww3 the US was dismantled by the Soviet Union, now I as Superpower #2 Japan has fought to dismantle the PRC. After the war ends all the little states popping out of China end up as subjects of #3 France, who even fought alongside China in the war. Is this working as intended? I can send you the save both before and after the peace in case you wanna check it out.

It is intended. Dismantling will dish out mandate offers to all nations that have a truce with the defeated nation. It is supposed to issue the offers to different eligible nations randomly but the random function doesn't work well in the game hence a single nation can at times get all the mandates.

I think you just broke the immigration tbh, France and Germany, in the previous versions used to get realistic amounts of immigrants, now they're emigrant nations, I don't get it.

The immigration system of Vicky is strange. I’ve no idea how to get them back as immigrant nations without using ham fisted ways.

Another question, is there any way to counter-act the decrease in population growth from education? Or should I just not educate my population?

Also Japan doesn't seem to get the event to claim their cores anymore, so after the fall of the US during ww3 the Soviet Union took Iwo Jima and puppeted Ryukyu, I have to pay huge amounts of infamy to get them back. Is the event supposed to be gone? I saw that Japanese events had been revised.

get the traditionalists in power, all popgrowth reforms, spam natalism event, win wars with traditionalists to get gender inequality pop growth buff, keep spamming foreign soldiers event with a big alliance like NATO to get a pop growth boost, this should get you a positive birthrate
immigration seems to be somewhat bugged rn weirdly enough, everyone barely gets 500/200 people (expect until 2040+; you get +4000 at that point), if you do all of that you can get a slightly growing pop with a edu10 country
edit : immigration is fixed and works great now

Immigration has been increased to about 4K for the nation with the most immigrants in the github version. You can download that one until the moddb version is updated.

The event was removed to avoid causing issues elsewhere so the only way to regain cores is to take the decision.

I think you can add some favors like Return of Soviet Union. 1994 events or a coup could be interesting. Example, if Russia become communist this would trigger a second cold war. With some events, it could be even more realistic.

The 1994 crisis is already in the mod. I'll be adding more Soviet and Russian events for 1.13.

Excellent update. to give events For Argentina and Chile, you could put an event in the Beagle Channel conflict, which was a conflict that almost caused the war between Argentina and Chile in 1978. If Argentina wins, you can give Araucanía and if Chile wins, you could give Patagonia Meridional

Changes something changing from a Presidential republic to a Parliamentary republic?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

Presidential republics don't have vote of no confidence events while semi-pres and parliamentary republics do. Presidential and Semi have impeachment events. Pres republics have the executive order decision to boost UH support but they can still be blocked from passing reforms if pop majority ideology is not the same as the ruling party ideology.

There are some modifiers that reduce supply consumption to avoid the 2000 goods per day cap blocking full supply being met. Unfortunately military score is calculated based on supply consumption rate so the scores get reduced because of this

No, you have to use the normal CB system. I don’t like to make decision based wars as it creates a lot of wackiness in the mod.

After playing for a while I can definitely tell you that the immigration doesn't work properly, and the population growth neither.

I'm around the 2040s, and China has a total population of over 3 billion inhabitants, the population growth didn't slow.

At the same time, most of the African countries are basically empty.
I'm playing as the European Union, and I have a population of 1,2 billion inhabitants, mostly because the entire middle east and Africa emigrated to me.

To give some examples of how bad the immigration problem is:
- Saudi Arabia has a population of 1 million inhabitants, and nothing bad, like a war or nuke bombardment, happened on the country, so basically they all emigrated naturally.
- Turkey has a total population of 40 million inhabitants

Former Germany, part of the European Union, has 300-400 million inhabitants, alone, which sounds crazy.

Immigration is impossible to model correctly because the game is hardcoded to only allow a tiny number of nations to receive immigration while the rest can only get emigration. If immigration is too strong then those few countries which get immigration will have their populations completely swamped by migrants. It is impossible to know how strong is too strong. Massive stuff happens every 10 years or so in the game and I don’t have the luxury of time to test and test so I don’t focus on what happens post 2010. The only way to get historical immigration is to rail road migration like in vanilla which to give a permanent immigration boost to them but I am wholly against because it is will undermine dynamism.

Population growth suffers from hardcoded problems as well. The game doesn’t allow province modifiers that have less than 0.10% pop growth to provinces which is necessary to prevent excessive pop growth. So everything below that will have to use triggered modifiers which apply on the national level. The makes it impossible to script pop growth properly unless I railroad things which I am against.

Getting spammed with 'Bougainville left the bloc' spams despite Bougainville being a puppet to another nation and not being involved with it. Is this fixed on Github as of 4/26/2021? Also, where do I edit the Educated Level modifier, the pop loss is way, way too harsh. I'm losing like 5-8K pops every day. Edit: Fixed it by giving the country to Papua NG and found the file it's under triggered_modifier under LITERATE NATION section, edit the global_population_growth = section to tweak it. I'll see if I can tweak the numbers to a more reasonable amount.

Edit 2: I've set Educated #s to the following tested with level 9 currently with Aging Population as the Soviet Union in 2006.
Level 4: 0.01
Level 5:-0.005 (Could move to another number, this test is the 'middle ground', could increase literacy speed as the pops are encouraged for higher education at 50% thus lower birthrate at this point until 60%)
Level 6: 0.001
Level 7: -0.001
Level 8: -0.001
Level 9: -0.002
Level 10: 0.001
Results show the Soviet population barely squeaking 20K per month thus simulating a slow or even trend overall. A few tweaks of the numbers can result in even lower though positive numbers. That's a net population of around 250,000 per year.
