--------HOW TO INSTALL--------
* Download Gzdoom (Version 3.4.1 or newer) at Zdoom.org
* Put Castlevania.ipk3 in the same folder of Gzdoom
* Open Gzdoom and select "Castlevania: Simon's Destiny" in the game window (Make sure video settings below the selection box are set on "Hardware (OpenGL)")
* Play!

Please enable "Always Autorun" from the player's menu

It's in the download, but still:
-All the textures now have bump and specular maps! (Please update Gzdoom to 3.4.1)
-Added rotations to Simon's Sprite
-First Person Subweapon Animations
-Giant Bat's fireball can be destroyed by subweapons or the whip
-Skeleton's bone projectils is now fullbright (So it's easy to see it in dark areas)

This is awesome, never knew about it before, until I was browsing popular mods!!
One question about the hud scaling. I run a 21:9 Monitor, I got all the settings where I want, but the hud scaling doesnt seem to do anything to the item/health/heart hud. It is pretty big and not all the way to the left. Is there a way to scale that part of the hud down like 50% ? Or am I just missing some setting? Thanks for this mod!!
I'm sorry but at the moment, the hud is made with a specific version of the code which doesn't support fullscreen offsets. So the hud gets a bit stretched on your resolution. I'm considering to rewrite it to better support that in the eventuality of a future update.

Hey so this looks really good but every time I go to play it i get an error message
"Script error, "Castlevania.ipk3:gldefs" line 713:
Error parsing defs. Unknown tag: material"
and I don't know what to do about it. Ideas?

Can you PLEASE make it compatible with Zandronum 3.0? Please, just please! Cause, latest GZDoom does not work for me properly. And i'm asking you about this not just for myself, but for other people that can't play this game cause of that stupid GZDoom trash! So please, if you reading this, then PLEASE make it compatible with Zandronum 3.0!
I'm sorry but Zandronum's code is too outdated for this mod. Reworking it would mean cutting a huge chunk of features that are only possible with the latest Gzdoom updates.
And what i have to do then to play this mod, cause when i'm starting GZDoom, then menu graphics are not loading. And instead of menu, i see a brown screen. What else i can do to run this mod???
Make sure you've got the correct version for your system (32 bit or 64 bit), if it doesn't work try downloading the "vintage" version (it's in the same download page: Zdoom.org ). If all fails, try downloading Qzdoom and see if the mod loads with that (It's unsupported but it might work).
I've discovered this mod thanks to Cinemassacre. I've played the first two levels, and I'm totally amazed. The work and love put in this mod is awesome. And the music, I love it! The versions you use in your mod are great, combining metal with the classic Castlevania themes. I don't know if you created the music as well, but whoever did, congrats. Great job. Two of my favorite games combined. A dream coming true.
PS: I discovered the Angry Videogame Nerd joke by chance. I didn't watch the whole video from Cinemassacre, so when I hit the block and the nerd appears and throws at me the middle finger I freaked out! It was awesome, specially to a AVGN fan like me. Thanks!

when i enter the castle on the first level it crashes instantly. here is the error message if that is any help:

Just a small suggestion:
As it is now, if I try to copy my existing GZDoom settings file into the Castlevania folder, it just gets overwritten when I run the game, which is too bad because with other games such as Heretic, Hexen etc, I could just move the file over and my control settings would be there.
It'd be nice if your game would use the file in the folder without overwriting it. I did notice it puts the "Simon" name in various places in the settings file. Maybe that's the reason (or part of the reason) it's overwriting the standard file? Just a thought.
Do you know how I can play this on my Android device?
I've tried looking it up but nothing seems to work because there isn't much information about modding Doom on mobile devices.
I'm a big fan of the CastleVania franchise, not to mention I've been getting into Doom-like games, but I don't know anything about modding the game.
