i just improved the description in the Article and the download itself that to start the game you need to start the "launchgame.cmd"
sometimes i forget that not everyone knows how to handle standalone mods :)

the next step would be to uninstall OpenRA and/or remove the OpenRA folder located in: C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Documents\OpenRA

Cameo uses the engine and files from CnC and these are located there, maybe you have another version installed and that causes the conflict

so i just made an NON-STANDALONE "Cameo v1.0" :)

just like in previous versions replace the cnc folder in "C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenRA\mods\" and Launch "TiberumDawn.exe".
hope this helps :)

First of all, thanks for making it standalone. Second of all, certainly factions I HOPED for so I'm very happy with that, but also certainly not the factions I expected. You've been teasing RA2 after all.

thats true, but RA2 factions are not quite finished yet there are many details missing, but as mentioned in the article they now will definetily come in Cameo v1.1

Game crashed while using Custom faction. I started with Protoss buildings, Zerg Defences, Scavenger Infantry... But when I hit the Terran Faction for the Vehicles, it just crashed the game.

thanks for the information, i will look into it.
sadly the custom faction was one of the last things i did and ran out of time i favor of polishing.

Shame, I really love it quite alot cause it's the most unique thing I ever saw in a mod for OpenRA, it's quite random, but at least I'm glad mod is going forth!

i found the error 1 letter is missing in the
Cameo v1.0\mods\cameo\rules\custom.yaml

CSCTRUCK:
Inherits: SCTTRUCK
RenderSprites:
Image: sctruck
Buildable:
Queue: Vehicle.Custom
Prerequisites: ~VehicleCustomTerran, Tech Vehicle
-MapEditorData:

the error is there:

RenderSprites:
Image: sctruck is wrong, correct is scttruck

when you get that 1 missing "t" in the game wont crash, you can hot-fix that yourself pretty easy for the moment :)

_____

also just noticed the supply truck is completely missing for Custom Vehicle ZErg

one more thing or two, Protoss & Zerg Custom Building are broken, harvesters cant harvest...
sorry for the inconvenience, iam working on it

now the good news: i will implement an AI for Custom, it will not be that great but it will function :)
also with an AI i can better test many things, i see what the AI does and what not and so kill many bugs

Another thing I had was against XLRandom with X_Infantry selected, I don't know if they get affected by Tech Level as I selected Low. I was with Scavenger boys.

Forgot the map name but, the AI seemed to continue to produce Infantry but they never seemed to want to attack at all. My base was tiny, just the few Scav buildings and no real army other than 10 scavs.

Their base is filled with infantry, but not that much to be honest, had the map be filled to the brim in the previous version, before the name change and it would barely lag... And I mean it, I used to make an army with over 200 scavengers and it would just barely start lagging.

Now with barely any units on screen I seen to be suffering of Lag and Stuttering, no idea if it's the map, AI or something else. Didn't had this issue when SimCity turned my Zerg base to ash a round earlier also using XLRandom, and I swear they had WAY more units than with the Infantry one.

it was possibly the map, as soon as only one tiny unit gehts stuck by an AI player the game lags like hell, thats OpenRA.
but yeah, to be honest i gave no attention to the tech levels, thats something i have to work up for the next version.

My PC seems to hate rar. files so I can't install it which is a shame because it looks interesting.
