Hey Html, is there any way u could just upload the files that dont contain the total conversion part of ur mod and just the story part? My computer has problems trying to to launch total conversions. I use Steam BTW.
Yes, but it would take hours to do. I would have to go back and check to make sure every single texture was matched up with the new location of the files or the game would be severely bugged.
So I downloaded this mod and moved the folder to the custom stories folder, yet when I open Amnesia, Through the Portal doesn't appear in my custom stories. Any idea what's going on with this?

I am downloading Through The Portal V2.1, I am a retail user on a mac, and once I download it I put it into the Unarchiver, which turns it into a folder, then I read the 'Readme', but when I open Applescript and put in what you said, it comes up with ' Error! Could not load main init file: config/ttp_main_init.cfg'. What can I do to get it to run?!
Okay, so I've got Amnesia on Steam and I've dragged the file into Steam/steamapps/common/amnesia the dark descent but when I run the batch file it had an error on it, Amnesia.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, so I moved it out of the files and into the main amnesia directory. It ran but then a java error box said it couldn't run this: config/ttp_main_init.cfg
So.. what's up? =/
i used the retail directions cuz i bought it that way and i click through the portal.bat and as soon as i click it a box appears for half a second and dissapears and its a black box with text but i cant read it because it opens and closes immediately and i cant run the mod i put the folder in the redist folder in Amnesia-The Dark Descent. Oh and it never asked me if i wanted to merge the folders :/ might be one of the problems and ive dragged and just hit extract idk whats wrong any help?

Beautiful ending, BEAUTIFUL ENDING! I got really impressed with the Inner Sanctum and the Secret Passage. STUNNING visuals! Really well made. The idea of different realms and guardians of each orb is REALLY impressive.
I didn't manage to get all the notes and find the 'secret room', though, so I missed the prize. I gotta keep trying, I guess. :)
The part where you get into the 'start' of the original Amnesia was totally unexpected! It killed me right away, and even though there's nothing meaningful in the ending, I almost broke into tears for some reason.

I did what is written in the "read me" text, but it didn't work, I tried applescript to save it as an application but it doesn't work either (or maybe I don't know how to do it properly). I thought I couldn't play any custom stories but when I dowloaded another one, it worked without any problem, I just had to put the file in the custom_story folder. I don't know why it doesn't work with this one, does the .bat file requires some other specifications? (Because in the other custom story I didn't see any .bat file.)
you can play other custom stories because they aren't total conversions like this one. they don't require their own launcher, they just add a new story to the already existing game. i can't run this either, because i can't for the life of me run a batch file :(
ive got a problem. im a non steam user and when i try to run Trough the Portal.bat it asks for a serial number. i dont know what to do. Can somebody pls help me??
it's total conversion, it doesn't work like that. first off you put the folder in the 'redist', not in custom stories. second, it doesn't appear in the menu, you have to use the launcher provided in it's folder.
If i install this will it work as is or do i also have to download the previous versions?
It will work as is. You need the latest version of Amnesia though, which you can update through steam or through their website at Frictionalgames.com

ur not sopposed to put in you custom stories folder your sopposed to place all the files in your amnesia folder

when i try and run the .bat file it says i need a serial number what serial number
the serial number that came with the game to activate it. if you bought it at the store at least, if not, then i dont know. SORRY!!

Very cool mod. But I would like to ask, is the 100% ending should be so white? Can you only go to the white nothing?

it's the number the game came with. if you didn't have one you can use 11111111111111 and that works fine
