Full version of Alien Armageddon 4.60 A classic shooter with 3 playable characters, 3 new episodes and hundreds of other levels. Includes an upgrade and leveling system as well as a robust randomizer called Attrition.

As with any mouse and keyboard shooter, you should configure the mouse and keyboard to your liking. Alien Armageddon uses some functions different from regular Duke 3D
ALT FIRE
RELOAD WEAPON
SWAP CHARACTERS
SUBWEAPON
PORTABLE VENDOR
You should assign each of those to suitable keys or buttons from the setup menu before starting a game. SWAP CHARACTERS will switch control of the playable character, if the other character is available. ALT FIRE will activate the secondary function of the weapon currently selected, if the weapon has a secondary function. It is assigned to mouse2 by default. RELOAD WEAPON will reload the weapon, if applicable. SUBWEAPON will switch to a subweapon on the same weapon slot, if one is available (for example, it will switch between shrinker and expander). You can also access subweapons by using the next/previous weapon keys. The PORTABLE VENDOR key will bring up a menu in which you can purchase upgrades and change costumes (this is not available in all episodes though).
A note about the "censoredtiles" folder. This folder contains alternative versions of the .ART files with less explicit sexual content. If you are a streamer who serves a general audience, or just a player who wants less sexual content in the game, replace the .ART tiles at the root with the ones in the censoredtiles folder. Don't forget to make a backup of the originals if you want them later!
Troubleshooting:
Make sure you have tried doing a clean install of Alien Armageddon without any additional files or files from previous versions. Also make sure you are not using the Polymer renderer. If the problem you are having is a performance related issue such as low frame rate or hitching/freezing during gameplay, then you may have a system that does not work well with EDuke32 (e.g. one with an older AMD graphics card). Unfortunately there is little we can do to help in that case, but feel free to contact us so that we can pass on the information to the EDuke32 dev team.
If you are reporting a bug or a crash, please save the ‘eduke32.log’ file that was created right after this happened. It will be located at the root level of your game folder with the executable. That file may contain crucial information about the issue which will help us solve it.

how do you disable autosaves?
they are annoying
In the scripts folder, open the file AAUSER.CON in a text editor. Scroll down to this line:
gamevar AUTOSAVE YES 131072
Change the YES to NO (it is case sensitive) and leave the other number alone. It will still autosave at the start of each map but not after that.
but why have the autosave like that anyways? i mean. what about just turning autosaving off completely?
Mainly because of a hardcoded feature of the game that when you die, if there isn't a save of the current map you are in, the player is given the option of just restarting the map without a save. But that messes things up in AA due to the leveling system and other stuff...so autosaving at level start is a safeguard against that.

Saves from version 4.50 (the release from just a week ago) should be fine, but before that...definitely no.

Loving it thus far, but one question I can't seem to find the answer for; is there a way of turning off the damage numbers/health bars? I had a look in options and couldn't see it.
The relevant options have to be edited in the AAUSER.CON file which is in the scripts folder. However, editing those won't do anything in a saved game, you would have to use console commands at that point. For more help use Discord as I don't like using the clunky Mod DB comment section for technical support.
Nice job with this been playing the classic episodes with this and so far i am loving this it actually feels like a you're fighting an alien invasion with the added stuff to the earth levels.
1 of the best Duke Nukem mods I ever played mate, great job, I install the game just to test this mod and I don't regret it at all!!!
Got a few questions though out of curiosity:
1) When I am playing the new episodes with the new invasion option, when I arrive at the locked gym door it says to use the night-vision to see the code I presume like in the original game, the thing is I cannot see the code at all on the buttons.
2) If I use ammo cheat the alien pistol is the only one that doesn't get affected/refill ammo
3) Not that I care much about it but is kinda weird that the pistols of all the characters have strong recoil in general while other weapons don't. Honestly I prefer to play the game without recoil. Not that I mind about it, like I said curiosity
4) Is it just me or I am hearing music sounds from Soldier Of Fortune ? LOL
5) Does the weapons and player upgrades(what exactly the player gets upgraded ?) have a limit ? Also is it possible to make them stay when choosing another episode to play ? Frankly speaking I find it impossible to upgrade all the weapons no matter what.
Please fix the XP mode problem. I can still access the menu by pressing backspace even though I've turned XP mode off.

Only problem I have is that the upgrade for the freezethrower or incinerator is making the game goes at like 25% speed when I stay on the fire button, any idea why ? (my pc is a big gaming PC so can't possibly be my GPU or CPU).

It would be interesting to see this mod get ported over to the eduke32 application for the ps vita, not saying i can't play it on PC just saying it would be nice to see in the future.

Completely awesome mods, the best for Duke3D. The only thing it's not compatible with the latest eduke32, it works fine on zetatouch 2.1.2 but I get a black screen on 2.2 but I will keep my 2.1.2 version of zetatouch just for this mod for sur :)

I own the Megaton edition, and the 20 year anniversary edition, both are on steam. Which would you recommend I use?
You just need the duke3d.grp file in your installation folder. Extract this mod to it's own folder, copy the grp file and run eduke32.
