Could you add to your list of downloads which 3 Letter maps go for The Clone Wars and which 3 Letter folders go for the Galactic civil war mod?

Cause now my game keeps crashing right after the first loading screen because I now have every map inside 1 addon folder and I'm not sure which goes for The Clone Wars and which goes for the civil war.

Thanks.

It will also help with which maps is actually needed too.

Hi, so both lists are included in article #3 here: Moddb.com and on top of that, the list for the CW only maps is above in the description, as well as in the file in the download called something like ‘Absolute Battlefront CW map list + links’, and that file is again included in the AbsoluteBattlefrontCW folder in the addon folder. And in the article, the description above and the readme file, I made it very clear that you’ll need a different addon folders for each GC as otherwise it’ll be too many files for the game to take.
Honestly I’m not sure how much clearer I could’ve made this 😅 hope you get it fixed, let me know if you run into any more issues

Short answer: No.
Just say that next time... I guess I'll just have to download them all again just to figure out which goes with which.

You don't need to download them all again. Just make a second addon folder, open either map list, and move those maps into the new addon folder. Just bare in mind some of the maps are needed for both so you'll need copies in both addon folders.

Not sure what you mean "Short answer: no"; I just reread you're original post and I did miss the part where you asked for the 3 letter codes, but they are included on all the lists I've mentioned above...

I've just uploaded some images of what the addon folders should include for each, hope that helps you out :)

Thank you jack for your hardwork, dedication, and patience! Especially, dealing with people. I know it could be frustrating as a modder catering to multiple egos Especially the more ignorant and rude ones. Thank you! You need to know you are greatly appreciated, not even for your mod, but for your humility and character!

Ahh thank you so much for this!!! 😊 I really don’t mind the comments at all, I know it’s not the simplest mod to install, and I just want people to be able to enjoy it, not be frustrated with it. And no one’s been rude yet really, I’ve had a lot worse at work. Hope you’re enjoying the mod as well as my comments though 🤣

P.S. I’ve deleted the guest comment for you, I’ve been there too!

If I'm honest it wasn't even something that had occurred to me! I downloaded both mods about a year apart so I never noticed the conflict. I also never play in 1st person so I never notice an issue. I would recommend the following:
1) if you've not already, save the original as a backup somewhere. Then...

Option A:
2) Install everything from Improved Sides first
3) Only install the REP and CIS folders from CWE, as that was all that was changed from the original I believe
4) This will leave 34 conflicting files, but again some of them are identical. You can either
i - keep the highest file size for each file, as this will most likely be the most detailed
ii - pick one mod and keep the files from that. If you do this, I recommend choose improved sides over CWE, again due to file sizes being higher more in IS over CWE

or...
Option B:
You create 2 FPM folders as you might have multiple addon folders, and switch between them depending on if you're playing with CWE or not.

Hope that helps! PS you're signed out again >_<

There are some maps when I play GQ that just cause my PC to crash whenever I try to load in. I'm very sure I have everything correctly installed since other maps work fine.

I could add more later. But Boz Pity, Garthe, and Yavin 4. They crash as soon as they load in.

At a guess, have you put all the mod maps for this GC and the GCW GC into one folder? Because if so it's too many for the game to run. You need to separate them out into 2, and name whichever folder you plan on using first as addon, and the other whatever you like. If you look at the images in this mod, you'll see an example of what each addon folder should look like for each GC: Moddb.com

I just finished (after taking long breaks) the Clone Wars galactic conquest, and it really is tons of fun, especially with the Clone Wars era mod! I can't recommend it enough! It's pretty tough at the start (I had a 1:1 win-loss ratio for ground battles at first), but once you get new units and take more worlds, it gets easier to handle.

If you're playing as the Republic, be careful about Kadrala, Eriadu, and Felucia (especially Kadrala - that's a really tough one, but I know how to beat it). They all took tons of tries before I got 'em (Felucia gets easy after you unlock more and more units). Fare thee well, ye fellow conquerors!

I'd decided to give this side of the mod a shot since the GCW mod is having some issues...

First map I tried attacking (Mustafar) in GC crashed the game. Opened in IA with no problems. Any ideas where I screwed up on?

Firstly, thank you for actually commenting on the files you’re playing rather than in the general mod page - helps me understand specifically which one you’re talking about rather than some who say “I can’t get it to work!” And I’m like, “which one?” 😅
Going to respond to both comments here though. If Death Star 2 isn’t showing up in IA then I’m going to suggest you’ve probably not installed that mod correctly. Is Ilum showing up there? And is it crashing the GC when you try multiple times? I did say in the readme files that mod maps played in sequence (such as in a GC) will often crash occasionally so make sure to save it every round and try again if it crashes. If it’s doing it every time then that’s another matter.
As for the CW era one, if Mustafar is crashing then you’ve definitely done something wrong, as Mustafar is just the stock level so there’s no reason for that to crash. I’d say it’s a small chance that you’ve downloaded the GC wrong (but as you managed ok with the GCW era one I can’t see why that would be). Honestly can’t think what would be causing that, sorry…

Alright, I've possibly got some answers for you TCW-wise.

I ended up deleting my entire game file (i saved the addons into a separate folder for both eras to help me swap to and from as needed). And then applied the necessary content (this mod page, the 1.3 patch, then the one updated for the clone wars era mod) and then proceeded to throw my CW addon folder back into the games file.

So far have had no crashes, with both modded and vanilla maps :D

Not sure of course if this is what everyone else is having issue wise, but it could maybe help :D

Cheers!

idk if I'm dense or if this mod, and maybe moreso just the maps, are broken.

to further instate this, I went to the lengths of completely clearing the game directory, uninstalled, and redownloaded the game with a fresh copy.

Then i installed each map individually, placed them all into an addon folder, seperate from the one i already used for mods, took the latter out, and replaced it with said folder. in said folder is ofc galactic era GC, 1.3 patch, and the maps.

now here's where it gets fun. about 8 i wanna say of the maps are playable. I know which ones work because of the maps, those 8 have actual names in the instant action playlist, while the rest come up with random coding/gibberish, and upon trying to launch one of those, even a single one in a playlist, crashes the game.

now I will say this is likely error on my end, but in that case, I know it's from installing the maps incorrectly. the issue is, with pretty much every tutorial on the internet, installing maps is "take this 3 letter folder, put it in the addon folder."

except aside from the 8 that work, the rest of the maps aren't that simple. each one comes with a data folder and a bunch of miscellaneous files, and following the readme instructions on each one produces the same results. I started thinking they belong in the level list found in the data folder, because following the paths brought me to lvl_pc_, and further in that brought me to the map folders with the 3 letters. except regularly installing these like you would with any other map mod produces the same results; coding for a name and crash upon launching the mission.

and there's not a single video out there that shows me what to do with these folders and extra files, resulting in me concluding that it's me installing the maps wrong. except I've went through every route i could to install these maps, and the same ones end up crashing every time.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I don’t know if you’ve managed to fix this yet, but if not, here’s where I think you’re going wrong:
It sounds to me like whatever you’re using to extract zip folders is skipping the ‘skin’ folder. Say the zip folder is called something like XXX, when you’re extracting it, it’s skipping XXX and just making a folder with the data folder. 99% of all map mods just use a 3 letter code, so if that’s not what you’re putting in your addon folder then you’re doing something wrong. In each of those folders, there’ll be a data followed by a _lvl_pc folder and then more folders, which is where I think you were getting confused trying to install them in your game’s data folder.
I would recommend using a zip extractor software like winRAR (which is what I use) to extract zips. It’s free to use (though it prompts you to pay for it) and is the safest way to ensure you’re unzipping everything correctly.
I may be way off in my assessment here, but that’s what it sounds like from your description.

Great mod! I have added all the maps from the list to my addon folder. But when I play galactic conquest I am not able to play all the maps. Only one map per planet. That means that I am only able to play on 31 maps, but there should be 39. Is there any way to play on all the maps from galactic conquest the clone wars in one galactic conquest round or do I need to remove some maps from the addon folder in order to play the other maps in galactic conquest?

If a planet has multiple maps for it, then one map is randomly selected each time that planet is invaded. This does sometimes mean that in a game you may not get to play every map, but it can add a bit of diversity. For best results, try leaving the planets surrounding the multiple map planets until the end, to increase the likelihood the AI will invade multiple times

Hello, thank you for your awesome work i love GC so much! Just have one problem with CIS, i see you added a B1 Battle droid but once purchased (cost only 50 credits) i can’t play with it. They appear when CIS is my ennemy but not for me do you know why?

Thank you.

The B1 droid isn’t a playable option on every map (hence its cheap cost). It’s normally only an option on the larger maps that require lots of units, such as Pharosis. It’s mostly an atheistic purchase - fire power is identical to that of the super, and you will never have any less units for not having the B1
