The Story Sofar.

So close, yet so far...

Sethiroth the Uniter of the Black Legion sat at the bridge of his Daemon infused Gunship “Jormungand” and watched on the view-screen as the thousands of daemons and cultists let loose havoc on the planet Of Khoronus IV, naval outpost of the imperial army. “These are no protectors of mankind.” thought Sethiroth to himself as his Daemon hordes spilled the contents of many helpless guards’s skull’s into their bestial mouths. As Sethiroth turned to face his statistics board he checked the numbers on his ancient Gothic kill meter. 250,109 and still rising. He had over 94,000 soldiers from all of the chaotic factions. “This crusade will be a victorious one!” cried Slithorus, his champion of Slaanesh. Sethiroth turned to face him. “Don’t gloat yet! The Mission has not even begun yet...”As he turned to face his View screen again He noticed a guard had somehow ended up on his gun ship’s outer screen. He sneered and watched as furies fell down upon their victim, taking him into the air a few meter’s before catapulting the corpse in the middle of the battle. Sethiroth turned once more and stared at the reports from his command vessel “oblivion” as the pilot barked out words like a machine. “Adeptus ships are Within range sire. A patrol ship Jugding by its flight Pattern.” Not much longer now thought Sethiroth...

“Heretics” yelled a guard as nearby cultists ripped his body in two with their daemonic talons. The imperial sergeant was busy fighting two enemies. A cultist and his commissar. “I am giving you direct orders to fight, sergeant!” yelled the commissar into the sergeant’s cowering face. “Hold your posts!” Bellowed the commissar as he saw a group of guards make a break for the abandoned complex that had served as their base for the last six months. Without any second thought he took a guards las rifle and gunned down the fleeing guardsmen with ease. Now the only thing inside the complex was a cowering guard and his companion watching the horror outside. “We’re all gonna die aren’t we Gunnar?” stammered the cowering guard his eyes fixed on the commissar who was eying the complex eagerly. Gunnar was still young. only 16. He had joined the guard to help mankind! Not die a horrible death at the hands of a chaos daemon. “Maybe Dax. Maybe... “ As soon as the commissar had lost interest in the complex, he turned to the sergeant and waved his power sword around in the air. Dax decided it was time to move. “Come on G. I think there’s a way we can save our skins.” Stated Dax he set off to the other side of the complex, at one corner he could swear he could see shadows moving so he continued cautiously, constantly checking his surroundings and beckoning Gunnar to follow. He stopped at a wall where there was a giant two headed eagle with a small screen in the middle hung off the wall. “Adeptus Astartes...” whispered Gunnar in awe. “Space Marines. what’s it doing here?” asked gunnar still staring at the golden talons of the eagle. “it’s a communication device of some sort. I’ve seen commissar Bane use it once.” As Dax stepped forward and touched the activation panel he stopped abruptly as he heard a familiar voice boom behind him. The commissar was standing in the hall blocking them from escaping. “what are you two cowards doing here? The fight is outside!” Dax froze in place with fear. “w-we were trying to find help...”started Dax “Help?? We are the help here, cowards! Fight or die honour less!” Shouted the commissar. Behind them, shadows moved. "We were called in to support this outpost! Those who needed help are already dead! And we honour our dead by fighting to defend what they held!" Another movement, behind the commissar. “honour this, imperial scum!” was the last thing the commissar heard before his body was ripped open by a chaos marine. Dax wasted no time. He pulled his laspistol and fired a whole round into the cultist’s thick armour but to no effect. The cultist cackled, shaking of the impacts and took a few steps closer to dax, when suddenly a Green Plasma Jolt burst through his chest and the cultist fell to the floor ,his lifeblood pouring out of him. Gunnar was standing behind him, the commissar’s plasma pistol in hand and power sword in the right. “Dax! Activate it!” Yelled Gunnar as 4 more cultists approached. “I don’t know how! It needs a code or D.N.A!” D.N.A. thought Dax. The commissar! While Gunnar blew a head off a cultist and slammed a new battery into his plasma pistol while slashing through the air with the Power sword. Dax made his break for the mangled corpse. A cultist was still there hacking his blade further and further into the carcass. A single las shot to the head took care of him. When Dax got to the commissar the Cultists were already Gaining reinforcements. Meters away from Gunnar, a wall blew open and Daemons poured inside. With haste he pulled his knife out and made a small prayer of forgiveness for the commissar and cut his eye out, almost throwing up at the small nerves still stuck on his eye. As he looked to Gunnar he was horrified to see that the Daemons had decapitated his friend, But the Beasts were hungry so they kept eating at the corpse giving enough time for Dax to Jam the eye into the D.N.A. device. “Commissar Bane” Whirred the Device. Suddenly a space marine clad in blue armour appeared on the small view-screen. “Sergeant O’Neil from the ultramarines 342nd Bravo Squadron. What is it this time commissar?” a Small Camera popped up and eyed Dax interestingly. “Hey! you’re not the commissar! How did you get on this channel?” Dax turned to look at the cultists. All that was left of Gunnar was some bones and blood on the floor, the cultists were approaching. “I haven’t got much time! We need reinforcements an-“ Dax never finished the sentence. The Space Marine watched as a river of blood poured on to the screen.

The Calm before the Storm...

The Decks of the „Ambassador“ were full of life. Sergeant O'Neil sighed as he exited the briefing room. The newly received Rescue transmission had set the entire Bastion on alert. The Fact that Chaos was active in this system was not new, but that they had amassed a strike force of this size was unpredicted. O'Neil marched towards the Hangar Bay were he was to meet with Inquisitor Gundaria. Gundaria was well respected amongst the Chapter, and when an order comes in from terra, he is the first to know. O'Neil strided through the dark halls of the Ambassador. He felt a slight feeling of tension in the air. Normally he would not be called directly to see the Inquisitor, a spark of suspense lightened within him. The great door to the hangar bay opened, O'Neil, Smiled at the sight of Delta Squad readying themselves for the oncoming Battle. They were his Elites, the only Initiates which survived the Terminator class training in normal power armour. Led by Ramus Tharain, a Veteran Captain who also served in the Battle for Macragge. Proudly he walked past them, signalling for them to get ready. The Inquisitor stood a few metres further, eyeing the initiates with a sign of unease in his face. “is that uncertainty what I see?” The Inquisitor turned, a dark smirk on his face. “i know you dont think much of me O'Neil, but we are on the same side here.” the smirk broadened into a sinister grin, “and if you speak to me in that tone a second time, i'll have you executed for harassing an agent of the Inquisition!” O'Neil's smile faded, replaced by a serious expression. “why did you summon me?” Gundaria's grin formed a forgiving expression. “My apolagies sergeant, I merely wished to congratulate you. The Emperor's blessing are with you today, for you will be the one to lead the strike force to Cleanse Khoronus IV of the Chaos Plague.” The Sergeant Proudly Saluted the Inquisitor. “I will not fail him! For Guilleman! And the Emperor!” The inquisitor's expression turned back to the usual suspecting frown, he turned and proceeded towards the bridge, eyeing every crew member and initiate eagerly as he passed them.

Into the Fray!

Delta Squad boarded their Thunderhawk Gunship, Sergeant O'Neil by their side. while the Squad members were readying their equipment, their Pilot led a last status check. “It's going to be a rough ride! The heretics outnumber us 100 to 1!” O'Neil stated. Ramus retorted, “Then it is a fair fight.” The Thunderhawk Rocketed out of the Ambassador, followed by hundreds of Thunderhawks and other landing craft, drop pods with ancient Dreadnoughts Shot down on Khorus IV. the sight was epic, the cleansing rain of Guileman. Delta Squad braced themselves as the Thunderhawk entered the atmosphere. The side doors opened and the chaos below was clear to see. Khoronus IV was burning.

The Thunderhawk Flew down low, blasting hundreds of Daemons and heretics with its Autocannons. The Doors flew open and Delta Squad deployed, Shooting everything in sight. O'Neil Barked a last order “You are to clear the path towards the former imperial base! Cursed Winged-Daemons are keeping our Hawks out of the Area!” A Plasma cannon within the vicinity sounded, a huge Purple energy blast shot out into the sky, decinerating the Thunderhawk carrying Omega Squads Devastators. “And Take out those Cannons while your at it!” Pointing in the direction of the Unholy Plasma Artillery Batteries. “Understood!” replied Ramus. “I am needed elsewhere, the imperials have been cornered on the other side of the facility, we will close in with a pincers grip and cleanse this valley first! May the Primarch and the emperor protect you!” with that, the Thunderhawk Cleared out, blasting a wrecked leman russ apart, clearing the road for Delta Squad.

They traversed the Valley, shooting down furies out of the sky, thrusting their chainswords into Heretics and Daemon alike. The effects of Chaos were clear to see; what had once been a lush valley full of Plants and Life was now corrupted. No more native creatures were to see, and most of the fauna seemed burnt or twisted by chaos. After what seemed like hours of marching, they arrived at a clearing, blocked by rubble. Signs of a ferocious battle filled the area. All of a sudden, brother Mc'brady started to convulse, he flew into the air screaming in vain! “By the emperor! He is possessed!” Shouted a marine. Mc'brady spasmed and catapulted to the floor where he exploded revealing a huge, convulsing mass of meat, a chaos spawn. Ramus ran forward, triggering his power sword, decapitating the beast with a single swipe, but the beast moved on, thrashing in all directions, gurgling horrid sounds of chaos. Bit by bit, the beast was cut to pieces by Delta Squad. Finaly, after all limbs were seperated from the host, what was Mc'brady, lay still. “Don't let the voices of Chaos enter your mind!” Warned Ramus into the Vox channel. “We have casualties, possessed and transformed into the emperor knows what!” O'Neil answered gravely “It's happening all over the place! Half of the guards Legion have convulsed into huge beasts and are rampaging through the area, be on your guard Delta!” “Understood!” Delta squad regrouped in the center of the clearing when a blast which shook the valley started an rock fall. “Run! Don't fall behind!” Delta squad Hurried down the valley with inhuman speed, the Rocks crushing all obstacles. Brother Luria fell, crushed by the huge boulders. In the last second seeing no way out, brother Magnus threw a melta grenade between an outcropping, causing the boulder to decintigrate. Regrouping once more, analysing their surroundings, they discovered the fallen of Epsilon Squad. Apothecary Roke extracted their Geneseeds and examined them. They had been Savagely massacred by chain weapons. “Epsilon is down, looks like Berserkers are in the vicinity.” there was no response, static filled the vox. “It must be the effects of the Chaos.” stated brother Reckto. “There is something nearby with a strong connection to the Warp...” retorted Ramus as he looked upwards. The Boulders had brought them closer to the plasma cannon, it lay about 10 clicks ahead, but the path to it was blocked by the boulder, and Magnus had used his Last melta grenade to save them. Analysing the area, Delta discovered a cave that seemed to lead underground in the direction of the cannon. The entrance resembled that of a huge Beast, Stalagmites forming Canines the size of a Dreadnought. Warily, they entered, not knowing what await them inside.

Black, Blood, Berserker.

O'Neil had rallied Gold Squad and the Remnants of the guard together and had fortified a small outpost. He had conversed with the Sergeant of the Guards, who after repeatedly thanking the emperor, had set up a primary defence line and withdrawn all imperial basilisks towards the outpost. “that's our current status, inquisitor.” as he finished his report to the ambassador. “They should all be executed for allowing the enemy to get this far!” O'Neil sighed, it was normal for the inquisitor to threaten failure with execution. “If that is your wish, but we must focus on the battle at hand! O'Neil out.” laying down the View-screen, he overlooked the outpost operations. The plasma cannon on the other side of the imperial facility continued to constantly spew chaotic energy into the skies. A grim feeling told him that something was amiss, delta squad had lost contact 2 hours ago. He was beginning to fear the worst.

The Chasm was Deep, it led into the very depths of the valley. Dark Crystals Glowed in the darkness, resembling the essence of chaos itself. Darkness engulfed Delta Squad and the voices of chaos closed in. Brother Nephalmius led on with his flamer, causing the darkness to flicker and retreat. Shortly after Delta reached a small clearing which split into two directions. a fork in the road. There was an opening at the top, a welcome beam of light shone into the Clearing. And then the heretics showed themselves. Bloodthirsty roars and inhuman Screams fell upon the marines from all directions. Khorne Berserkers jumped from a ledge into the midst of the Fray, Hacking and screaming. A Chaos Spawn Fell from above, flattening brother Nephestus. The battle was fierce, the berserkers were brutal and lightning fast with their Chainaxes, but they were up against Delta squad, the best of the best. Sparks flew through the air as Chainaxe met power sword. Bolts ripped both power armour and flesh to pieces. The Chaos Spawn Flailed in circles, attacking both marine and Heretic. Finally, the heretics were defeated and the Spawn sent back to its creator. Two brothers lay among the enemy. Apothecary Roke extracted their Gene Seeds and Delta continued. Once the deed was done, Delta squad carried on in the direction the enemy came from, since the other path had been destroyed by the Spawn. A half hour later, and delta emerged from the chasm. the dark star of the Khoronus Systems dulling the once lush ground of the planet, the Plasma battery still firing above the valley. As soon as the whole squad regrouped and continued towards the cannons they found themselves confronted by a horde of Berserkers and a champion of Khorne on his Juggernaught.

Ramus Charged to the front and roared a Rally that would have made the emperor proud. “We are Delta Squad of the Ultramarines 342nd Legion! We are the emperors Champions, and we know no Fear! For the Primarch! And the Emperor!” with that, he charged forward, Delta Squad roaring with animalistic Savagery and Faith towards the enemy. The Berserkers met them with even Moral, but underestimated the power of Delta. They were Rolled over. Power Swords slashing and hacking the berserkers apart. Bolters roared, sweeping Heretics from their feet. The Khorne Champion roared an animalistic Cry and charged at Ramus, the Juggernaught causing the ground to shake with its unholy rampage. He barely dodged an attack that would have slashed a terminator in two. Observing his opponent closely, he noticed a chaotic presence emitting from his weapon. It was a sinister 2 handed blade, Black and red, a demonic energy shone with the blade, its form ethereal. The Champion slashed out again, causing the air to shimmer around him. The Daemon weapon, roaring with bloodlust.

“Death to the False emperor!” cried Khan as he hacked with All'Riss, his Daemon Blade towards the fool marine who pathetically dodged each attack. “Let the Galaxy Burn!” he hacked and slashed, parrying the few blows that the marine dared with ease. Eventually, he Struck down with all his might, the ground splitting with his power. The marine charged forward and plunged his Power sword into the Juggernaught. With a swift movement, Khan launched into the air, and lashed out at the marine, decapitating him. Khan burst out in laughter and pulled the pathetic blade out of his now dead steed, throwing it down to the body as it fell. As he turned to take on the rest of the fools of the emperor, the same blade that he just threw, plunged through his chest. He doubled over, glancing with hatred from the direction of the blades controller, seeing a crippled marine, without a helmet. Khan grinned, laughing maniacally he stood up tore the blade out again and turned to face the marine once more. “I've been waiting for a challenge like you for a long time!” with that he engaged in hand to hand combat with the marine.

The Champion of Khorne launched himself onto Ramusr, Beating down with daemonic strength. As he finaly managed to get loose of his enemy, he was grabbed catapulted against a rock outcropping. Regaining his strength, he leapt upwards to see brother Paulus engage the champion, shooting him bolt by bolt, but to no effect. “What sorcery is this?!” Paulus roared. The champion grasped out, grabbing brother Paulus by the helmet. “Not Sorcery you fool,” the champion softly said and then he raised his voice and roared, a Daemonic and hideous Roar, ”POWER!” with that he enclosed his grip crushing Paulus's Skull leaving the body to spasm on the floor. Enraged, Ramus grabbed for his power sword and Lunged towards the champion, ramming the blade into his skull. Silence. The remaining berserkers Roared in anger, but were swiftly eliminated by fellow marines. The body of the champion was still. With his last strength the champion grabbed the hilt of the blade in his skull. “Blood for the Blood god!” and with that, he pulled downwards, cutting himself in half. Ramus retrieved his helmet, a Warp burn edged into the right side of it. He donned the helmet and activated the Vox channel. “Sergeant O'Neil? Delta Squad reporting!”

overload

“good job delta, we are starting our counter offensive, focus on getting that cannon offline so we can get some reinforcements in here! O'Neil out.” Relieved, O'Neil closed the Vox link and met up with the guard sergeant. “Get ready to lead your men to battle. As soon as those plasma cannons fall, we will storm the base. Understood?” the guard stuttered, and eventually saluted in response. With that the sergeant hurried over to the guard legion and barked around the orders. O'Neil turned towards gold Squad. “We will expect Terminator and Land Raider support from Bravo Squadron as well as the Dreadnought squad as soon as the cannons fall, clear landing spots in these key positions along the valley...”

After reporting to sergeant O'Neil, Delta Squad began to ascend the Valley Cliff where the Plasma Artillery batteries were stationed. Furies swept down on Delta, Swiping and slashing with their claws. A number of Chaos Spawns and Heretics soon joined the furies, attacking randomly with full aggression, but to no effect. A Havoc Squad of the Iron Warriors had nested in on an outcropping opposite of the cliff, and as soon as Delta entered their sights, began raining hell upon them. Brother Crocius Charged forward and ended their Reign of Terror with a well placed Plasma burst, causing their ammunition supplies to explode. The Explosion caused a part of the cliff to collapse, creating a bridge to the other side of the valley, but also blocking Delta's Path towards the Plasma Batteries. Ramus led Delta across the narrow bridge to the opposite side of the valley. As soon as the last marine had crossed, the temporary bridge went plummeting down to the bottom of the chasm. Delta continued along the Valley in the direction of the plasma artillery, looking for a way to cross the chasm blocking their progress. The attacks of the Heretics became more constant and concentrated. They nearly lost Brother Magnus as a Berserker had pinned him on the ledge of the chasm, but Ramus kept Delta together and they suffered no further casualties. Eventually, they came to an outcropping of 50 metres, leaving a small gap between themselves and the Plasma Artillery, which lay exactly on the opposite side of their current position. Analysing any possible way of traversing this gap, Ramus noticed a weak, tall Rock outcropping on the opposite side. Brother Magnus, stepped forward and tossed a fragmentation grenade. It hit its target, and the rock fell down to form a second temporary bridge. Delta Charged across and jumped down into the barrows of the Plasma Artillery.

Silthio was just checking up on the iron warriors Quad-Plasma-Cannon installation, when they came. The Traitor Adeptus Mechanicus noticed them as he heard an explosion near the encampment on the position of Havoc 6, not to mention the loss of contact between them. Within minutes he had set up a defensive line made up of barricades of scrap metal and 5 heavy Bolter turrets. Unfortunately, they came right up behind the line and soon took control of the turret. “Don't let them harm the Cannons! Keep the Fools of the false emperor at bay!” his Bionic arm integrating itself within one of the four cannons.

Ramus led Delta direct into the barrow, and found themselves behind the enemies defence line. As soon as Delta had eliminated the few heretics behind the barricade, Ramus jumped up to one of the Turrets, his Battle Brothers at his side, following his example and delta began with the Annihilation of the enemy ranks. They ripped through the Heretics as though they were Paper. All of a sudden, the nearest Plasma Cannon had turned and set its firing angle on Delta Squad!

“Plasma offset at 57 Degrees, Fire!” The Cannon Pulsed and a Chaotic Shockwave went through the Barrows of the Plasma Cannon installation. The Defensive Barricade was no more, 2 Space marines stood were they were, melting away from the incredible heat, but the rest of the fools of false emperor stood running in Silthios direction. He disengaged his Bionic Arm with the Cannon and focused on the sudden attackers. His Elite Guard of Iron Warrior Champions came rushing to his aid, while Silthio himself drew out the mighty Defiler Claws that he wielded on his Bionic Arm. “Force them back! Fight in the name of Manneus Drath!” Silthio Charged forward engaging the front marine with full force, thrusting his bionic arm into him.

Ramus took a direct blow from the bionic arm of the heretic. Its power catapulted him into the Plasma Cannon. The Heretic roared pursued him, wielding huge claws on his bionic arm. Ramus dodged the first attack with incredible but was cut off by a second quick swipe. He fell to the floor, bringing up his Power sword just in time to parry an attack which would have crushed any mortal. He pushed upwards and ended up with his back to one of the Cannons. The Cultist Roared and Charged directly at him. In the last possible moment, Ramus Rolled to the side and watched the consequence of the Traitors foolishness. His Claws crashed into the Plasma Cannon and cut through the stabilizer cables. The Energy supplies began to overfill and the plasma Cannon began an overload of energy. Ramus ran as quick as he could but the following Shockwave sent everyone in the vicinity flying from their feet. The Plasma Cannon exploded, emitting one last huge blast into the Atmosphere of Khoronus IV. The Adeptus Mechanicus Traitor wielding the Claws had been decintegrated and the other 3 Cannons also began to overload. “Delta, Fall back!” Obeying Ramus's warning, Delta Squad disengaged the enemy and ran as fast as they could from the cannons. 10 seconds later and the entire Installation was Destroyed under the Plasma inferno. Ramus signalled Delta to regroup and opened up a Vox channel to O'Neil.

Even in Death one serves...

“For the Emperor!” O'Neil charged forward, the remaining forces of the Guard building the rear while Gold Squad carved through the midst of the enemy. Bravo Squad had also landed 14 Clicks south of their position and was soon to regroup with them. Delta had done a good job with the Cannons, now only the remaining Heretics lay between them and the former guard base. The Imperial Wave closed its distance between themselves and their objective. Casualties were minimal among the marines, but the guard had spread themselves thin. O'Neil did not want imperial blood on his hands...

“Incoming Drop pods, stand by Delta.” The Servitors of the Ambassador broke the radio silence as six bright lights became visible in the atmosphere of Khoronus IV. The Drop Pods Crashed down into the clearing, opening slowly to reveal Cataclysm Squad. The Six Dreadnoughts of the Ambassador. “Cataclysm deployed. What is the objective?” Ramus pointed down the Valley path which led to the bottom of the Chasm. “We will descend into the Chasm and Eliminate any threats. Our Objective is the lost Imperial Base.” The dreadnoughts turned towards the path and began their journey. “Objective confirmed. In the name of the Emperor, we will make it so.” with that they marched. “listen up Delta, we will give Cataclysm Cover from enemy Havocs and flying Daemons. They will tear through the main force below. Understood?” Delta didn't need to reply. With that said, they marched alongside Cataclysm, into the depths of the Valley.

The descent went without any problems. Once at the bottom of the Valley, hell broke loose. Cataclysm Squad Charged straight into the enemy, Trampling, Crushing and Tossing all Heretics in their path. Delta Squad shot down any furies in the air while remaining vigilant as not to be detected, or shot at themselves. The squads continued in harmony, eliminating any threats that arose. Suddenly, a dozen Daemon Machines arose in the midst of a clearing, and charged the Dreadnoughts head on. It was a harsh battle, and the weapons of Delta Squad could not even scratch their armour platings. The Daemon Machines were fierce in close combat, tearing and clawing at Cataclysm, an animalistic fury unmatched by mere mortals. Eventually they were pushed back, but at a price. The Armoured frame of Cataclysm 4 lay torn apart in the Clearing, The Sarcophagus within Carved open and ripped to shreds. Warily they carried on, meeting little resistance from the few Heretics they met. Finaly, Delta and Cataclysm arrived at the Front of the Imperial Base. A Large amount of Heretics lay in the middle, forming a huge Runic form in the clearing. Delta took up positions on the ledge of a cliff, covered by a rock outcropping. Analysing the scene, they noticed a single Heretic standing amongst his fallen comrades, as if in meditation.

It had been done. Gorados stood amongst his comrades, each one of them cracked open, their innards spread around them. He swayed in all directions, without moving from the spot. It was almost done, he felt the energy of Khorne around him. “yes, come and take what is yours...” 5 Dreadnoughts of the False emperor entered the clearing, enraging the energy of Khorne. “The time is now!” With that, he let the energy take hold of him.

The single Heretic Flew into the air, the Carcasses followed, swirling around him, their Lifeblood forming a Sphere of pure energy, which enclosed the heretic. It Imploded, revealing a Vortex through which a Huge Daemon of Khorne passed. Huge Wings Sprouted from its back as it Soared into Reality. Its Skin was Gore Red, its Armour Bronze and its Weapon was a Huge double sided Axe. As it Landed, it let out a hideous Roar into the Sky, the sound resembling the Screams of the Damned. Cataclysm took up positions and Charged the beast full on while Delta started pumping their munition into the beast of Chaos. It Soared into the Sky and came crashing down on Cataclysm 6. Its attempt was forfeit however for Cataclysm 1 and 3 Tackled the Beast and sent it crashing to the Floor. Cataclysm 2 Charged with full speed into the beast before it could regain balance, and began a brutal beatdown on the Daemon. It thrashed and beat upwards with its wing, causing Cataclysm 2 to Topple over. It Launched into the air and circled the Clearing, Its Roar a Daemonic Cacophony of Chaos. While it flew around, a large amount of Heretics and Lower Daemons began a Charge on Cataclysm. Delta gave Covering fire and concentrated on a group of Furies in the Sky. The Heretics gave everything they could muster, but Cataclysm just toyed with them, picking them up, crushing their bodies only to fling them into their comrades. Finally, the Daemon landed again, brandishing its Giant Axe and charging towards Cataclysm. It struck down, Cracking the Armour of Cataclysm 5, but it was not enough. It shoved the Daemon away into the Cliff under Delta. The force of the Crash, caused Brother Regnum to fall, landing directly under the Daemon. Before he could regain balance, he was crushed by the hoof of the Beast. Cataclysm 5 grabbed hold of the Daemons Weapon Arm, Snapping it backwards against the Rock. It Howled in Inhuman Pain, and thrashed with its whole body. Cataclysm 1 joined its Battle Brother and thrust its Flamer-Fist direct into the Daemons head, Igniting and Crushing with all its strength. The Daemon Howled, and then became still. The body began to decintegrate, imploding back to the Warp. Cataclysm regrouped with Delta in front of the Base, Triumphant against the Beast of the Warp.

Sonic Firestorm

The Land Raider rumbled as it sped through the battlefield, the Terminators of Bravo Squad brandishing their weapons for any possible attack. O'Neil sat next to Uriel Frox, Storm Terminator Veteran. “The complex we are aproaching was once the imperial base. According to reports there's enough Gene seed in their for 500 marines! We have to get it before the Heretics do!” Uriel nodded silently. He knew the grave consequences were this mission to fail. He would not fail. “Delta Squad will enter the complex from the South side, we will take it by force with a pincers grip. Understood?” Uriel nodded a second time, there were no needs for words in a moment like this. The Land Raider juddered to a halt. Uriel stood first, donning his Thunder hammer and Storm shield. “On my mark, fall in with me and eliminate the enemy in the name of the emperor!” with that, the Blast door flew open and the Terminators Charged into the formerly Imperial Complex.

Slithorus Destroyed the Double headed Eagle Communication relay with his power fist. The Daemonettes of Slaanesh had taken hold of the entire complex, Noise Marine Squads had set up defensive barricades withing the hangars and great halls. The Imperial briefing room had been set up as a EZ, due to the Leviathan Positioned exactly above. were they to be ambushed whilst scavenging the Gene Seed. The amount of Gene Seed in this base was incredible. Who would have thought that the fools of the emperor were so idiotic as to leave this place protected by mere mortals? He chuckled at the thought of the best of the false emperor, underestimating the powers of chaos. He sat himself on his Daemonic Throne within the former briefing room. His Daemonettes, lay by his feet, their sounds a cacophony of pleasure. He smiled. Everything was going to plan.

Delta were readying themselves to infiltrate the base while Cataclysm marched along the Western front, their Hulking armour too large to enter the Imperial base without drawing too much attention. Delta stood before the entrance, Chaotic Runes had been scratched along the walls of the exterior. Hesitant, Magnus Lit the fuse on the melta charge. Clearing a hole in the Wall, Delta stormed inside. The Darkness didn't last long. They arrived in a lush field, the sound of a Womans Laughter enticed them. “What the... is this sorcery?” Brother Koda stammered. Cautiously, Delta moved ahead, the sound of the Playful Laughter haunting them. The area was lush, Trees and mountains could be seen in the distance, and a small pond lay near a Flowerbed. Ramus wondered if Terra had once been Symbolised by such beauty. arrived at a large Apple Tree, under which a pale Female lay. Warily Delta approached, their weapons at the ready. It laughed playfully, laying face down on the lush grass. Brother Crocius made the mistake. Enticed by the essence of Slaanesh, he approached the female. Everything went Dark, The Female stood, baring Huge Daemonic Talons, and Ripped Crocius apart where he stood . Ramus was the first to react, raising his Boltgun, he Roared; “Open Fire!” Delta let loose a hail of Bolts to the Daemonic Witch. Her lithe body, dodging most of the shots, the rest were nocked aside by her Talons. She let loose a pleasureful moan and launched herself onto Ramus. He met her with his Sword, impaling her nimble body upon it. Within seconds, her frame melted back into the realm of the warp, and the Imperial Hall came into being. The sight was horrible. Guards lay Diced on the Floor, their innards hung upon the walls and ceiling. A Decapitated body lay near a broken imperial communication Device. Among the bodies, Apothecary Roke located the body of Imperial Comissar Bane. Ramus whispered a small prey for the dead imperials. “Honour the Fallen...” stated magnus while glancing at the remains of crocius. “yes...” Ramus rose to face his comrade. “but fight for those still standing!” Magnus nodded with appreciation to his battle brother. With that, the Ultramarines of Delta Squad charged further into the complex.

Delta Rushed into a recreational chamber of the guard, where they met a group of Noise Marines. Sonic Blasts sent Delta flying from their feet, Whilst Daemonettes of Slaanesh closed in with their Daemonic Talons and nimble bodies. Delta's Bolters roared with Fury, the loss of brother Crocius to the Daemonkind Heightening Deltas taste for Vengeance. Once cleared, they stormed the next corridor and ended up in an imperial armoury. The Noise Marines had set up charges on the munitions. Delta knew better than to let this chance go by. After delivering a short report to the rest of the strike force, and trading status reports with bravo, they defused the bombs, taking as much munition as possible with them, along with a few Rocket Launchers, Heavy Bolters and 2 Plasma Cannons. Carrying on, Delta cleared the Guards Quarters, Room by room, Blasting the Horrid Noise Marines and Daemons back to the Eye of Terror. Eventually, they found themselves in a huge Hall, Bodies lining the room. A Runic symbol was drawn in the middle. Its epicentre, a Glowing Portal. “Its a gate to the Warp itself!” Roke warned. Delta kept their distance, until they noticed a group of heretics jump through the portal. The Heretics were carrying Gene Seed. Alarmed, Ramus pointed in their direction, “In the Name of the Emperor! Stop them!” With that, Delta left the physical world.

The ninth Circle

“We've lost contact to Delta Squad, last known position, the imperial Mess Hall” Uriel didn't need to think long before he made up his mind. “Then that is our next target. To battle Brothers!” The Terminators, loaded out, the remains of the Imperial Hangar bay, desecrated by their fire power. A single Heretic lay in front of the exit. He was crushed into the Titanium Alloy floor as Bravo marched over him.

Ramus fell, It was a sickening feeling, his surroundings seemed physical yet Ethereal at the same time. What seemed like an eternity of falling, was over within seconds and Delta arrived in an Obsidian Stonehenge on what seemed to be a floating island. The Atmosphere was no longer that of the Khoronus system, it was Lilac, with 4 Dwarf Stars beamed upon the planet, each a different colour. Whilst regrouping, Delta had discovered that Brother Tarrok had had his innards turned out. Roke had no way of extracting his Gene-Seed, his body, manifested by the warp. “Bravo, come in! Do you read me? Come in!” Ramus soon noticed that it made no sense to contact them, the signal obviously out of range. Looking into the distance, he noticed a huge portal near their current location. As Delta readied themselves to approach it, the ground upon which they stood began to quake. A Chaotic Energy from the Warp itself Circled and settled itself as an infernal wall, surrounding Delta. A mass of chaos spawns and furies appeared out of the mist, Cultists approached from all directions, Berserkers and Noise Marines were also among them. Delta took up a Circular defensive line within the Stonehenge they had arrived in, setting up the heavy weaponry from the armoury all along the Stonehenge. It was a massacre. Delta fired in all directions, full with hatred for the treacherous Heretics and Daemons. More came, charging from behind the Ethereal barrier. Berserkers, launched themselves into the encirclement, only to be gunned down seconds later. Furies, swooped down at Delta, Slashing into their power armour with a hit & run tactic. Roke was busy keeping Delta standing, Brother Koda having been hit in the shoulder by a Bolt, lay slumped against a rock, still firing whilst being tended to. It was looking grim for Delta...

The Door flew open, Bravo Charging in, brandishing their Storm Bolters at any possible threats. Examining the room, they took notice of the Portal in the centre. Uriel beckoned to his battle Brothers, “Scan the anomaly.” Terminator Falk marched forwards, checking the signals. “Lieutenant! I've got Contact with Delta!” Alarmed, Uriel stormed towards the portal. “We don't leave our brothers behind! Into the Frey!” The Terminators charged into the portal.

Delta was losing moral, The Stonehenge was near total obliteration and the munition of the salvaged heavy weapons were running low. Every marine had been hit, although none fallen, the chaotic effects of their weapons keeping their enhanced bodies from healing. Suddenly, a flash of light appeared above the Stonehenge and bravo squad came into being. “Heretics in range, Fire!” The Terminators blasted their way to victory. Shrugging off everything the Heretics threw at them, they rolled over the countless Daemons and Cultists, Uriel himself leading the charge.

Bound by the warp

Delta had taken a beating, Apothecary Roke had been tending all the wounds he could, but he didn't have the equipment in this emperor forsaken place. Bravo had brought Delta to the Portal and had also located the signal from the Gene Seed within the 2 clicks. “We will recover the objective. Stay here and keep the vicinity clear.” Uriel had said to Ramus. He still felt uneasy about it. It wasn't that he didn't trust Uriel, but Glancing to the portal near them... He just hoped the enemy would not retreat to soon.

Uriel led bravo squadron through a heightened clearing. The Fauna in this realm seemed to have a life of its own, pulling its buds towards the terminators as they passed. Daemonettes were dancing with a chaotic elegance among the plants, trying to sway the terminators from their way. They were met with a hale of Bolter fire. Noise Marines took up positions in a warped tree, their Sonic blasts merely a small pressure against the Terminators armour. Uriel launched forwards and smashed his thunder Hammer into the Tree. It Lurched forwards, as if in agony, sending the Noise Marines flying to the floor, where they were crushed by Uriels Hammer. As they continued, they watched in amazement as a strange Arch formed itself at the end of the clearing. Cautiously nearing it, they noticed that the Chaotic Chapel could be seen on the other side. Warily, the 'Terminators passed under the Arch.

The strange earth on which the marines found themselves was misformed, and seemed to belong to some kind of organism. Not 40 steps ahead, a mass of Chaos Spawns and Berserkers seemed to pull themselves into being. Without a moments haste Uriel barked into his Vox “Aim for the Limbs and vital organs. Madraco, pull forward with your heavy flamer and keep them at a distance.” With unnatural haste for Terminators, Bravo set up a firing line, and blew the Heretics and beasts apart. Not a minute passed before their fire ceased, the silence was met with an inhuman roar as the reality once again seemed to rip open. Uriel could not comprehend what he saw, the greatest level of Heresy there was. Posessed Daemonic Marines Launched out of the Rift. Some baring huge Talents, others Daemonic Jaws where their hands should be. A pair of Huge Marines also exited the Rift, their bulks held together through various organisms. Observing them closely, Uriel registered multiple heavy weapons on the marine, each of which moving with the marine, as if they were one. The Obliterators stopped 40 meters away and let their deadly cargo loose. A Hail of Plasma fire flew against Bravo. 3 Brothers fell, their armourdecimated by the high powered blasts. Uriel broke the line, charging into the Obliterators. His thunder hammer met the Daemonic Power fist of the Heretic. The Obliterator quickly swivled his fist and grabbed hold of Uriel, pulling him in close. He growled unholy words into Uriels Visor, from which he could only understand; “We are the Prophets of the true Gods!” Uriel pushed as hard as he could from the obliterator, the grip of its Power fist closing in on Uriel. With all his strength, he pulled up his Storm Bolter and blasted his entire magazine into the skull of the Heretic. A moment it stood, before slowly falling to the ground. The other Obliterator had been taken down by Cadragos Chain gun fire. The posessed marines were still engaged with his Battle Brothers. The winged Marine fell down on Uriel. As he examined it closely, he recognized that the marine had Daemonic infused Power Claws, his helmet had been morphed to resemble the bestial jaw of a Greater Daemon. It raised its claws to strike at Uriel, but he quickly kicked upwards and forced the damned beast back into the sky. Donning his thunderhammer in one hand, his Storm bolter in the other, he let off a salvo of bolts at the beast as it came in with another swoop. As it prepared to strike, Uriel smashed the beasts membrane into the ground with his hammer, causing the body to franticly spasm. Rushing to his brothers, he fought off the last of the damned marines, and they fled towards the chapel. Uriel looked back, 12 of his brothers, lay slaughtered in the passage. A feeling of shame rushed over him. Madraco approached Uriel and placed his hand on his shoulder. “They have earned their place in the halls of the Primarch” Uriel shook off his hand and simply nodded in appreciation. “We must move.” with that, Bravo marched towards the Chapel.

Not all Guards are from the certain civilised cultures. I've read through a few books myself, and the variations of guardsmen goes exactly as the variations of youths today

Bought up the next chapter on my blog. Critics are welcome as always ^^

Right from today I am now edditing this Story, and Chaos what is its tital?

Imperial guard regiments are consiting of group either raised by war-veteran worlds or other worlds near these. If you take into account that some are even civilized worlds, you see a pattern of their own world culture and others surrounding it...

Well i did think about it,but i think it is better to leave as it is,because its more of a mysterious ending and there will be lot of questions like What will happen to Ramus,is he dead or not,and stuff like that. Also it will give us a lot of options to take if we even start working on second project, god knows when.
