Is the texture coming out ok? Very similar to the smaller version, might add some details to the handle again.

Thats really cool...it should be a two hander though...
I think the beserkers shoud have those. Can you imagine a bunchof huge men running at you with those things?

ooh yeahh! good idea! The berserkers running with those giant things in their hands, I would like to see if somebody stays in their way :P... Agree with Mydrall there, though, it should be a two hander, don't you think?
Still I think the berserkers should use big heavy axes, but these could be a nice option too ;)

When you swing it you use both hands, I just haven't yet changed it to be held in both hands otherwise (and I think it's using one handed weapons skill atm :lol: ).
I could make something more "finished" looking to be used as a real weapon, as that is just a peasant tool that I thought they would use as they can't afford real weapons. It's not like everybody used to own a sword in scandinavia, not to mention armour (atleast not in Finland area.. did you know that making a full body chainmail took ~3 years to make :O think how expensive they would have been)
woow, really expensive, and long to make. Well, it is, after all, a hole shir made of small metallic rings, figure out how long it would take to make hundreds of little rings and interlace them... really an artisan's work. That's why they used to use fur and leather so much. And well, viking warriors weren't much of professional soldiers, but much more like lustful, greedy devils who got the first thing they could find and put it on like armor \m/ haha
oh, you shouldn't understimate them, they were the best sailors of their time (considering they even got to america)
"Professional" means that you get paid for what you do. So they didn't get paid for being soldiers, but they did get paid for being robbers.
They did conquer parts of russia, england, france, baltic countries... - things like that would need some sort of planning too ;) Moving thousands of men in boats all the way down to mediterranean area means that they weren't just a blood thirsty bunch of dopeheads and alcoholics :D I don't mean they were superb in any way compared to other people, but historians used to portray them in rather genric fashion, making them look worse than they were. Which is ok for games though ;)

No, of course I don't underestimate them... Actually, I only meant the comment as a joke, for I LOVE vikings... They are my favorite 'civilization' from the past. And they were really skillful... Excellent sailors, warriors and poets, if you read the poetic Edda you will find that they were skilled in arts too. And of course, they did expand so much that they even got to America, as it is said, that they discovered America before Colombus. Also they invaded parts of Russia, and more to the south too. They even reached the Mediterranean sea, so they were excellent sailors and strategists. And it's true what you say prowo that they are made look worse than they were... but, it's cool sometimes to think that they were crazy badasses who burnt all the found (which sometimes was right XD).
Their religion was really complex too
