Last week, reports emerged of two new Xbox One console revisions – one which would be slimmer, and the other more powerful and able to support the Oculus Rift. Though that wasn’t confirmation that Oculus Rift games would be coming to the Xbox One necessarily, the report simply mentioned this new Xbox One would be technically capable of doing so.
This week, however, Ars Technica reports that an anonymous game development studio is working on an unannounced VR game specifically for Xbox One. Ars Technica claims the information was provided as part of a pre-E3 meeting, and it was also confirmed by a PR representative for either the studio or the platform.
The studio working on the Xbox One VR game is said to be a well-known European studio, and the game itself is set in the universe of a long-running, well known game franchise. This isn’t an Xbox One exclusive, however – the VR game will apparently also be released on PC and PS4.
With E3 just a couple of weeks away, we’ll no doubt have more solid news very soon about these console refreshes and Xbox’s plans for VR.
