Thanks to the new Zone's regulations, now some faction leaders must provide the possibility for stalkers to earn a basic income based on their performance.
With this mod you can ask faction leaders for a daily salary.
Zone Passive Income
DLTX REQUIRED
Hi everyone. This simple addon will add the possibility for the player to earn a daily "salary" from some factions.
READ IF YOU ARE UPDATING TO V0.5.0 AND ABOVE (Ignore if it is the first time you download the addon)
BEFORE UPDATING BE SURE TO CLOSE ANY OPEN CONTRACT AND WAIT LIKE A DAY, I CHANGED THE STRUCTURE OF HOW THE ADDON SAVES DATA. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AND WE'LL TRY TO FIX THEM, BUT CLOSING CONTRACTS AND WAITING SHOULD BE ENOUGH
Contracts
Organized factions
These contracts exchange money for completing quests and objectives for that particular faction.
The factions are:
- Ecologists
- Duty
- Mercenary
- Military
- Freedom
- UNISG (temporarily disabled because of a bug)
You can go talk to the faction leaders and ask them for a daily salary. This base salary will be based on your rank and bonus money will be added for every npc or mutant killed each day or task completed (every faction has different needs).
You are required to at least complete 1 bonus objective each day (killing mutants, npcs or completing tasks) depending on the employer faction. If you slack too much the contract will end.
Each day your salary will be accumulated by your faction leader and when you get the chance you can go talk to him and get the money he owes you.
Bonus Packages
If you do a good job your employer will give you a bonus package with the salary, containing supplies and sometimes ammos. The requirements for the bonus packages increase at each contract stage, as well as the quality of packages. Thanks to Mr_agorista for this addition.
I'm still looking for ideas and suggestions so if you have any you are more than welcome to let me know. As I said before this is super early in development and some decisions about the design can and most likely will change.
Unorganized leaders
These contracts exchange supply packages for completing quests for that particular NPC.
Currently the available leaders are:
- Sultan
- Sidorovich
- Butcher
- Librarian
- I will add more in the future
You can open multiple contracts at the same time with different leaders, but in order to keep them active you'll need to complete at least one quest for each of them, every day.
These leaders will give you supply packages for completing quests for them (not for the faction). The more quests you complete the more supply packages you receive. The quality of the packages will increase with the employer's trust, which is gained each day by completing quests.

Changelog
v0.5.4
- Fixed an issue with saves from an older version of the mod, sorry for the delay!
v0.5.3
- Fixed the dialogs in spanish so the game won't crash anymore
v0.5.2
- Found the problem for the crashes if in spanish, I temporarily disabled the spanish dialogs while I'm waiting on the fixed translations. Sorry about that
v0.5.1
- Fixed a spanish translation file
v0.5.0
- IMPORTANT: BEFORE UPDATING BE SURE TO CLOSE ANY OPEN CONTRACT AND WAIT LIKE A DAY, I CHANGED THE STRUCTURE OF HOW THE ADDON SAVES DATA. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AND WE'LL TRY TO FIX THEM, BUT CLOSING CONTRACTS AND WAITING SHOULD BE ENOUGH
- Added "Unorganized contracts". There are important characters that can give you contracts where in exchange for completing quests for them, you'll receive supply packages. The more quests you complete, the more supply packages. Working for someone will increase their trust towards you and you'll unlock better and better packages. For now the unorganized leaders are:
- Sidorovich
- Librarian
- Sultan
- Butcher
- I will add more in the future
- While you can start a contract only with your faction leader, you can open as many "Unorganized contracts" at the same time as you want. Beware that you'll need to complete quests for each employer every day in order to keep the contract active.
- Supply packages contents are now randomized and you'll receive less items for each package.
v0.3.1
- I come to you with a new update thanks to the amazing work of Mr_agorista who was so kind to give me parts of his code. In this new update I added the chance to receive supply packages (or ammos) if you do a particularly good job each day. These packages are not cumulative so be sure to check with your employer each day!
- Dynamic bonus objectives: For each employment stage the requirements for receiving a bonus pack change. In the first stages these are pretty low and once you start to climb the corporate ladder (please kill me) the requirements will increase, but also the quality of the packages received. Thanks again to Mr_agorista for the help with balancing.
- Russian and Spanish translations thanks to Adlez_asleep Beshel and Mr_agorista
v0.2.5
- Added spanish translations thanks to Beshel
v0.2.3
- I'm sorry for spamming updates but turns out I introduced a game breaking bug, and I encountered it just now, should have made more testing sorry!!!! It seems to be fixed, the bug was that it stopped you from opening inventory or do basically anything
v0.2.2
- Added a fix for the last update where if you had already a contract before updating would break the conditions for showing dialog. This fix simply closes your contract and you can go and open a new one (you won't have to wait a day), I'm sorry for this brutal fix but I don't have lots of time right now.
v0.2.1
- Made custom dialogs for every faction so now it should be more lore friendly. A massive thanks to Adlez_asleep and forsiid for the russian translations of some many dialogue lines. The spanish translations for now are not supported, should come soon thanks to Beshel
- Added better notifications that show your bonus objectives numbers when you receive the salary update, as well as the money made in that day.
- Contracts are now tied to the faction npc you talked to. You shouldn't be able to terminate a contract from another npc.
- Better PDA description with the name of your employer.
v0.1.2
- Added a multiplier setting for the salary received in the MCM
- Now when withdrawing your salary you can choose to keep it for yourself or share it with your companion. This feature was previously an MCM settings but I chose to move it as a dialogue option.
v0.1.1
- Fixed and complete spanish translations (sorry my bad)
v0.1.0
- Added the possibility to share your salary with your companions (use MCM to toggle on or off this feature, in the future I will move this decision directly in the dialogs when withdrawing your salary). The money you "renounce" will become reputation gained (scaled obviously) and if you have my other addon Gifts From Companions you will also gain squad friendship.
- Added even more rus translations thanks to forsiid
- Added partial spanish translation thanks to Beshel (partial because I added some texts last minute, minor things)
- Have fun, things still need balancing, I will add a slider for the MCM for a multiplier of the salary so you can find the setting that you most like.
v0.0.4
v0.0.3
- Changed the list of factions to make them more lore accurate. Now you can get employed only by:
- Ecologists
- Duty
- Mercenary
- Military
- Freedom
- UNISG (not tested)
- Now each faction has different requirements for keeping the salary (for example ecologists don't care about killing other npcs so they won't pay you for doing that and also killing npcs won't count towards not losing the contract)
- Added on the PDA the employment task description that reminds you what the faction cares about.
- Balanced a bit the basic salary.
- Added a system of career progression where after some days you will get a promotion and start to earn more. Your rank will determine how quickly you will get promotions
(THIS WHOLE PART IS NOT REALLY TESTED SO IT COULD CAUSE CRASHES)
- Thanks to bvcx and Catspaw for greatly helping me getting the tasks the player completes
v0.0.2
- Fixed a bug where you stopped receiving salary after a while
- Added the salary task to the pda (to be expanded)
The idea is really good! But I will advise that the salary of the monolith, loners, sinners, clear sky, renegades, bandits is not suitable due to non-canonicality, since the monolith group, like any sect, gives all its money and savings to the glory of the monolith, like sin, lone bandits and renegades engage in looting, and in spirit, everyone is for himself, the clear sky lives only for the sake of research in the zone, which means there is no organization that pays them outside the cordon, with all the others without a gap, the military and debtors, IIG pays the government behind the cordon, scientists for working in the zone and sending research for governments, mercenaries do the same for murders, there are a lot of customers for cordons who pay for orders, and they reach the mercenaries, the Svoboda people pay for the fact that they fight for the freedom of the zone, in addition, they have connections behind the cordon regarding Western weapons (I don’t include the nerd, you can include 2 versions, for everyone, and the canonical one, for each player if desired and so for mod 10)
yes these were the kind of suggestions I was looking for, thank you. I'm not so educated on the stalker lore but I want it to be absolutely lore friendly so yeah, I will work on that. thank you :)
in addition to what was said above, you can make a salary calculation not for killing, but for gaining the reputation of your group or completing tasks for it without receiving monetary rewards for it
the addon is very interesting and greatly interested me
I will monitor its development
this addon adds a little bit of immersiveness, not tons of poorly made weapons and other addons that turn stalker into CoDM
I agree with you about monitoring other things instead of kills. Right now it was the quick solution while I figure out how to do some stuff (I'm pretty new to the modding scene and I'm also learning LUA while using it).
I'll try to keep this interesting, meanwhile keep the great ideas coming :D
Weekly salary for the amount of tasks from your faction is good.
Can make it like this:
Every week items will be spawned in a stash near leader. Amount of items will be based on the amount of tasks you've completed (different items for each faction based on lore).
maybe not cash ... but for keeping the mutant population under control you could have an NPC pay you for hides / mutant parts in ammo & equip ... Butcher and the Hunter's Guild would be perfect for this.
you could use the script like Spirit (the food trader) uses in Yantar to trade ammo for vodka.
I think csky *should* get a salary tho
Regular csky members are just stalkers who are there for the money, and they have an increíble sense of trust for csky leaders, that's why they're happy to live in the swamps and do what they're tasked, even if they don't know what it means or how it goes on by "the Big scheme", cause they know (or deeply trust) that it's for science and the greater good, cause the leaders *DO* know.
Yeah, true, basically csky are just a low-tier merc recruits, nobody goes on a "radioactive criminal-infested wasteland research mission" just because he's bored of a normal life, more like for daily salary and a "way to gain more"
Exactly! Low-tier mercs who trust in their leader/contactor a lot :D
Yeah, there's always some "great just cause" when you can't afford to pay people properly but still want them to clean your sh!t
the grindset is real
andrew yang would be proud lol
great mod, but the only factions I can realistically imagine having a salary are military, ecologists, unisg, mercs(?), and duty. all other factions are either religious cults, random disorganised groups of people, anarchists, or people otherwise who have sworn their lives to the zone
Yeah I will definitely work on making this mod more lore friendly ahah I like my mods to be well integrated with the game base experience.
I like from where it starts :) there is potential
About cleaning areas around a factions base from mutants / npcs : mercenaries have a mission like this where you have to go all over Dead City and purge mutants to secure the base (mission is called 'Spring cleaning' iirc or something like that). Maybe it could serve as a basis and be adapted for other factions/bases.
Also, I would love to see some other ways to help a faction than just killing stuff.
Maybe the player could also provide some kind of supply / equipment support, either by giving stuff directly of by establishing relations with neutral factions and making contracts, establishing trade routes, negotiating, etc...
Maybe some scouting missions could also add some diversity, looking for intels, staying undetected,etc...
That kind of stuff look, to me, ok~ish lore wise.
Ty and gl
these are all great ideas. I'm not particularly skilled with modding in general and I'm still wrapping my head around the task system so I'm not gonna promise anything but the one you described is the direction I'm going for. luck is needed, thank you, good stalking :eyes:
Ждём перевод на русский! Очень круто!!!
Я работаю над этим, ждите в ближайшее время.
P.S. Обновление вышло, надеюсь вам понравится.
Huh i was working on something similar. wanna share ideas?
Absolutely yes, is discord ok? my username is the same i have here: sto_benino
This addon is perfect, I like the idea although you may have to change some things with some factions (based on their lore) but leaving that aside, this addon is interesting and very based, 10/10!!!
thank you larry! yes i'm working now on the factions :D
will it be possible to receive salaries from the leaders of the groups only in money? Or will it be possible to receive the same ammunition and medicines?
for now I think money is pretty universal, maybe in the future I will think about adding different salaries types!
I think it would be better for the players to be given the freedom of choice when receiving a salary: in money, in ammunition or in medicines. And the more you work for the faction, the better you get paid, maybe even with some kind of costume. Okay, author, it's up to you)
the addon is great, we are expecting two more additions to it.
Does it work for UNSIG?
it should!

So I can finally be much richer on hard difficulty? Great! Because I love killing mercs, being a dooty ak guy and suffering from crappy armor, thank you
you're very welcome :)
Lore wise speaking, When Lebedev existed, Clear Sky acted like a mercenary group paid by Lebedev as U can hear in the dialogues where most of them could be heard saying "we are in it for the money", So, I believe Clear Sky will also receive payments but the mod is good. 10/10
I support you. moreover, the fact that "Clear Sky" is in a neutral relationship with mercenaries confirms that they are mercenaries themselves, but more "poor")
very nice, I will add csky to the list of factions with a salary :)
After reading the comments and thinking about it, I wanted to say that Lebedev died in Clear Sky during the Outburst, at the moment it is headed by the former bartender of this group Cold, and at the moment Clear Sky is simply studying the zone, and they are connected with the mercenaries because they need weapons, but at the same time, in the same part of Clear Sky, the group is secret, because even Scar was forced to close his eyes so that he would not know the way to their base, also thinking that it was possible for Renegades, Loners, Bandits, instead of money they would pay some kind of swag, and not important, it could just be garbage to be disassembled, or some useful electronics, a couple of bandages or pills, or a weapon of poor quality. and the things will be at the main base (either in a box in Sidorovich’s bunker, or he can give them out himself.) after every week, as well as salaries for other groups.
ok so what you're saying is that some factions (like military or ecologist) can pay with money while other factions (like loners or bandits) can pay with items? That is actually a good idea i think, maybe a bit complicated to add as a feature but really interesting, thanks for the input
Yes
The leaders of the "clear sky" maintain a murky connection with mercenaries, while using naive stalkers in the dark (and for free) in their dealings, hanging noodles on their ears about the importance of research. That's why they keep in the shadows (leaders hide murky business, ordinary fighters think they are doing an important thing) "Clear Sky" is an organization with a beautiful clean name, behind which there is money. It's a sect.
P.S. - all of the above is banter, a joke))) Don't take it seriously! but this conspiracy theory can be developed to the point of absurdity)
I also have an idea to suggest, for a mod opposite of this, basicly for bandit and swamp bandit, you have to pay tribute to faction leader like a cartel-mafia organize crime, failing to do so bring consequence. For monolith and sin,as a sect you can donate money in exchange for benefit. Just the though
thanks for the thought, I'll think about it :D
This might be a bit too complicated to implement but I'm gonna throw the Idea anyway.
Maybe at a certain rank it could be possible to be hired by the military as a military stalker? You run errands for the military and in turn they pay you a handsome amount and maybe extra for any information you obtain and hand over etc.
Definitely a bit bare bones of an idea, but maybe its sometthing still!
it is a good idea, I had a similar idea for a different mod but fiddling with the task system is a bit of a nightmare so I abandoned the idea for now. very interesting
Requires a new game, I don't ask, I report. In the next game I will use it.
Great idea 10/10
I'm thinking and it shouldn't require a new game, are you sure about that?? anyways, thanks!!
Really cool idea, makes a lot of sense for a merc playthrough. And this isn't even version 1.0?? Really curious to see what you've got planned next.
a basic feature for 1.0 will be not having bugs eheh
Hell yeah! lol
Ive encountered a bug where you keep getting paid infinitely, you can just spam "im here for my money" as much as you like since last update.
Amazing mod in any case!
Same issue, infinite money printer bug. I'd also recommend changing the phrase too. Something like "I'm here to collect my pay" would sound a little better.
"Hey, got something for me?" IMO would sound even better
sorry about the bug, it will be fixes in the next update! thanks for taking the time to comment
