This addon ports the volumetric smoke configs from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky to Anomaly. This addon will only work if you follow the description carefully. Currently this addon only affects Agroprom Underground. I might add the smoke to other levels too.
BEFORE YOU ASK THE PERFORMANCE IMPACT IS NOT THAT BIG AND I HAVE A GTX 660 WITH SOME SHADERS ENABLED AND I GET MOSTLY 60 FPS ON DX11 AVX!!!
THIS MOD WILL WORK FOR ANY OTHER MOD INCLUDING MODPACKS TOO. ONLY IF THEY DO NOT OVERWRITE THE LEVEL FILES FOR AGROPROM UNDERGROUND
THIS ADDON ONLY WORKS FOR DX11 (doesn't work for dx10)
MODDED EXES VERSION 31.1.2024 OR NEWER REQUIRED!!!!!! ANYTHING BELOW THAT WILL CRASH THE GAME.
NO NEW GAME REQUIRED!!!
INSTALLATION (works for every mod):
1. Before installation please install the latest Modded exes from demonized.
2. After installing modded exes open up the game and enable volumetric smoke in the game settings and after that exit the game and go to your root anomaly folder and delete shaders cache folder. (located in appdata folder)
3. Now install the mod within MO2 at the highest priority
4. After installing you can go check the agroprom underground level and it should have these volumetric smokes (keep in mind you have to enable volumetric smoke from in-game settings)
4a. Or you can launch debug mode and go to agroprom underground by opening the console and typing "jump_to_level l03u_agr_underground".
5. You have installed the mod.
The smoke will interact with every dynamic object even though it's 15 years old. Keep in mind you might get an performance impact and some volumetric smoke bugs.

v1.3: 7.2.2024: Most likely fixed too much dense smoke due to gaussian shader? If you have this issue this new version fixes it. (make sure to delete shaders cache)
v1.4: 27.2.2024: Fixed the fourth fog emitter (it was broken because the entire section for it has been changed so I reworked it)
v1.5: 28.2.2024: Adjusted the third fog emitter and fixed some clipping issues, now it looks better.
Runs great here. literally no FPS impact while playing even @4k,enhanced shaders,SSS sharders,everything maxed, Reshade with pascal glitchers RTGI shader, and GSC's global Illumination enabled, at 5 depth and 48 photons for good measure.
So much more immersive.Hope to see the resolution bumped up a bit and this in more levels. Great work so far, Thanks!
The smoke system is very complex and expensive to render so turning up the resolution will probably kill your fps. Thank you anyway.
Released a new update which should fix your problem. This uses edge detection by gsc.

Hello, thank you for this mod! Is it possible to increase the resolution of the smoke?
I'm going to release an update that will fix it. Although this will cause significant fps drops. Might inckude it as an optional feature
New update:
4.2.2024: Fixed the low resoltion in smokes. This will decrease your fps but not by a lot.
i can't see the smokes, i just install the last exes and the new better resolution smokes update but cannot see the smoke, i've tryed the low resolution smokes and it works without problems
This only works for DX10/11. Have you tried reinstalling modded exes and the mod at the highest priority? Also delete shaders cache and enable volumetric smoke in the game settings.
yes i'm using dx11 and have enabled volumetric smokes on game, the weird part is i can see the low resolution smoke but not the newest patch with the hight resolution smoke edit

What an incredible mod! Will you put it in more places in the future, or will it only be available in Agroprom underground?
I was thinking about putting it in other underground levels and normal maps too. For the normal maps that have an underground section like Zaton is where i'd probably put fog volumes there.

Are you, by any chance, planning on porting the shaders for the volumetric rays casted by headlamps? They were a feature on Clear Sky, haven't seen anything like it in Anomaly
I decompiled the Anomaly spawns and looked at it. I searched for light and did find it stores light information and what type it is. Theoretically it is possible to enable the volumetric flag casted by lights and I cannot confirm this 100% but I will look into it. I suggest not using this option either since volumetric light in Anomaly sucks anyway.
New update is coming most likely today. This will fix the third fog emitter, the reason why it was broken was because due to Call of Chernobyl geometry of agroprom underground it's not the same as in Clear Sky. (fixing this is so hard I thought it was going to be a simple positioning procedure which it was but the geometry occlusions while being aligned to their clear sky counterpart didn't work correctly so I have to modify those if I want to prevent the smoke going through static geometry)

If anyone has had too much dense smoke for some reason I released a new update that should fix it. (just make sure to delete shaders cache)
The True Stalker mod already uses volumetric smoke. You can take a peek at them.

I know. I never said that this shader is mine at all. This is also used in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky way before than true stalker or this mod.
Is fluid_gaussian.ps supposed to be missing from the latest update/archive?
Yes, because it was unnecessary and made the smoke too much dense.
Alright so I guess I should delete it from the Shaders folder as well or will just deleting the shader cache suffice?
If you did have too much dense smoke (ex: smoke going through walls) then yes you should delete it. (and shaders cache folder too)

Fourth fog emitter will be fixed in the next or a couple of days since I focused on updating my level especially the optimization due to far cry 5 trees and some other props.
