:DESCRIPTION:
Vertigo is obviously a vertical based map, the idea was to stray away from the usual horizontal battles and do something that is more vertical instead.
There are 4 towers aligned in a zip zag patter.
The 2 end towers are of the same design, and the 2 middle towers are of the same design.
The path of travel is and up and down style as well.
In the CTD game mode, both teams start at the bottom of their towers at opposite ends of the zig zag, their diamond is approximately half way up the tower.
Players have to make their way all the way up to the top before crossing to a middle tower, in which they need to travel all the way back down the bottom before crossing over to the other middle tower and going back up, finally crossing over to the enemy tower and going half way down to get their diamond.
The reason that team spawn points are at the bottom of the tower is because it then becomes a game of catchup. If players get killed, they start from scratch, if the player is killed where their diamond is, and someone steals the diamond, the player who managed to get so far, will have a lead in order to get away and back to their base. But that doesn't mean that he is safe, FAR from it ;)

Its defiantly a unique design, congrats on the map. I think you should add some water or something but other then that very well done.
Bug free, great fps, nice race to the top and then to the bottom and up and down lol. The concept is perfect. However it is very long before you can finally reach the diamonds without being killed. But anyway, even if you never reach it you'll have had a lot of fun trying trying to get past the other team in a vertical map. I really like to go DOWN the towers as fast as possible like freerunning. Nice job and submit more great concepts.

LOL general Atrox, I couldn't think of the name of that tower game :P
However, i'm not too sure how these towers would hold up with all the explosions and stuff going off lol.
Spooboy, I went to add water just for the hell of adding water, and it was terrible :P
The map also previously had a jungle beneath, but I found that it ran too slow with all of the trees and fog and it really was quite boring to look at, so I think the desert theme suits this map well :)
f0u, I was wondering about how long it would take to get from one side to the next, but when you think about it, games like left 4 dead can take a while to finish due to the difficulty level (if you play on expert and try to finish the hospital rooftop for example), and you basically lose track of time because you feel soooo close to winning, but you just don't get far enough.
If a lot of people play tested this and they all had the same feedback that it was too difficult to bring the diamond back, I would simply but the team towers side by side.

Doesn't matter anyway, the votes doesn't have anything to do with who wins lol.
Even if this map had a rating of 2, the judges decision is final and they have their own judging system.
I remember I was a member of a website ages ago, and there was a reviewing competition I entered in, they tried to do a community vote based system until all the good reviews started getting votes of "very bad" (it wasn't a number voting system).
The judges of the competition found out that some of the people who submitted the bad reviews actually created about 30 or so accounts just to lower the vote on other people's reviews and raise their own. Needless to say it looked very sus very quickly when all the bad reviews had votes over "perfect", so the judges scrapped the community vote idea and judged the reviews for themselves, lol.

i like this map, VERY unique and well thought out. DONT change the boundaries, as i found a way to get outside the tower walls and wander around a little... if fast enough i can get back in-bounds and shoot people from outside the vertigo :D pls dont ever change that!

But dont change it; one, it's nearly impossible to do, and two, i only did it once after 50 attempts LOL the suicide isnt worth it, so you can still weed out the tards like me by leaving it the way it is :D
