I had this CTD when placing the pointer on some weapons. I use some weapon packs (G36 pack, Pretty Pistols and Abakan packs). But I fixed it via MCM by making this addon load after weapon packs. At the moment I had no problems. Thanks.

What mods are you using.

Cool idea but it doesnt work for me, maybe it has something to do with nitpickers ish_item_stats.script which most moders rely on or work with, instead of modifing the utils_ui.script itself.

Perhaps I will make adaptations for popular modifications, but so far there is no mood, if necessary, throw a link to a specific modification.
And why should I use crutches, if I can directly.

The most popular addon use the ish_item_stats.script for editing outfit stats, but I use an mod inside of gamma ( Discord.com ) which introduce some weapon stats too. I tried to integrate your changes into the ish_item_stats.script of this one buy failed. The one I really want is the display of the devices batteries lifetime.

The addon goes very well after loading it after the weapon packs. The fact is that today, when positioning the pointer on the Veles Detector, it gave me CTD.

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : <no expression>
[error]Function : CScriptEngine::lua_error
[error]File : ..\xrServerEntities\script_engine.cpp
[error]Line : 191
[error]Description : fatal error
[error]Arguments : LUA error: ...s (x86)/anomaly-1.5.1.2\gamedata\scripts\utils_ui.script:3560: attempt to index local 'obj' (a nil value)

At the moment I only had problems with the Veles Detector.

But it was by looking at the diary where you build one, those guides to crafting items. I'm going to try the debugging mode to see what happens and I'll comment in 5 minutes.

I am back. I tried to spawn the Veles Detector from debug mode and it gave me CTD when hovering over it. I do not use any addon that alters the detectors, nor do I have override conflicts with another addon. MCM usage.

Check a little more. The problem is when displaying the information from the guides or from the debugging mod itself, because now the Bear Detector gave me CTD, which I have been using since I started the game about 2 weeks ago. I mean, if you put the pointer on the Veles or Bear from debug mode or in-game guides, it gives CTD. At least the ones I've tried, maybe there are more things.

Check the weapons in debug mode and they work fine, no CTD. The problem is the devices (detectors, geiger, PDA..)

Great little addition! Thank you for uploading!
It is incompatible with Moddb.com however, but only due to shared utils_ui.script.
I merged two of them into one: Dropbox.com but a crash Marplatense above mentioned, shows up:

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : <no expression>
[error]Function : CScriptEngine::lua_error
[error]File : ..\xrServerEntities\script_engine.cpp
[error]Line : 191
[error]Description : fatal error
[error]Arguments : LUA error: h:/anomaly/bin/..\gamedata\scripts\utils_ui.script:3613: attempt to index local 'obj' (a nil value)

If I remove the 3613-3616 lines (from the merged script) then the crash doesn't occur, but the conversion of battery percentage into time doesn't work (the rest like bullet speed, condition wear etc. still works).

Thank you! Even if you don't use that mouse over transfer items mod, You can fix the detectors mouse over crash with by deleting lines 3559 through 3563 in the regular file. However, it only displays "low/moderate/high electric power consumption" now for electronic devices instead of the number of power units it draws like it did before.

Works for me. Good work.

Equipped guns no longer light up when you hover over them. Not really an issue but indicative something was changed that shouldn't be.

I would change the condition readout from % lost per 100 shots to instead be number of shots per 1% condition lost. That would be more granular. 1% lost per 100 shots could be anywhere from 100 shots to infinity ya know?

The expanded stats even update after applying upgrades which is very cool for debugging. You need to save and reload to get the stats to update though.

Edit: I also get a crash when trying to hover over any detectors. On a fresh vanilla testing install.

Edit2 (9/17/23): I forgot to come back to this to add how I fixed this. I changed something in the detectors file but don't remember what. But I've been playing with this addon for months without issue and has been of great help debugging things. Now if only I could find this same thing but for ammo...

However I will also add 2 other things that have changed that I noticed.

1) The icons on the Svarog that display the type of anomaly no longer appear. The circle indicating an anomaly still appears, you just can't tell what type it is. Not really a problem to me.

2) Double clicking an item to move it to a container works the same, but after the first double click you only need a single click to move another stack. Meaning you can much more quickly transfer large stacks of items that you don't necessarily want to move the whole stack with a ctrl+click. Honestly, I like this change even if it wasn't intentional.
