Simple edit to the PDA script to disable location discovery HUD messages. No more intrusive text popping up when you go to a new place for the first time.
Most of us have played the game before, for those of us who know the map and its many places, or maybe even if you're new and don't want to be told you're stumbling into an anomalous field, this is an addon that disables the text that pops up in the top-center of the screen each time you discover a new place. You will still see discovered locations marked on your map and should still get XP for the discovery, the goal of this addon is just to remove the text to increase immersion.
It will not be compatible with any other mod that overwrites the PDA script but the way it works is very simple, if you wish to make a merge just comment out the line actor_menu.set_fade_msg( game.translate_string(v.hint), 5, nil, "device\\pda\\spot_discovered" ) near the bottom of the location discovery function, that's all this file changes.
Nice... does the sound still play?
In 1.5.1 the sound doesn't play anymore
It would be more useful to remove circles from the PDA map that mark areas such as Novice Village, which prevent you from clicking on green houses and moving to these areas.
Green houses, is this for fast travel? I don't use that in my game so the circles never really bothered me. It sounds like a good idea but more technically involved and beyond what I really feel like doing. I made this mod in 5 minutes and thought I would share for people who maybe wouldn't know how or didn't feel like downloading AXR toolset and doing it themselves, I won't be updating it with changes. This text popping up all the time was the only part of Anomaly that really bugged me enough to make this change.
Thanks
This kinda necroing, but if you click the area's tab one pda map, it toggles them visible, was ramming my head in a prior playthrough since the location to fast travel to Sakharov's bunker was in a perfect spot for the area circle to almost be not interactable (unless being pixel perfect and right clicking the last left most pixels on the fast travel icon).
