Nal Hutta:Wastes is a swamp map based on Nal Hutta from SWTOR
Nal Hutta: Wastes
By KommissarReb
README:
Description: This map is inspired by Hutta from Star Wars: The Old Republic. I hope the fact I
used a lot of stock unit's models won't generate too many gripes for you. I wanted to make a map
that was fun.
If you'd like to see more of the map before downloading, watch my playthrough as the Republic side: Youtube.com
Backstory: The Galactic Republic has set up an outpost on Nal Hutta in an area near the palaces
of hutt crimelords Suudaa Nem'ro, and Voontara Fa'athra. The Republic's outpost was set up to
send support to the Evocii insurgents, whom the Hutts displaced and subjugated.
The Sith Empire's presence on Nal Hutta is to win the support of powerful Hutt crimelords. They
succeeded winning over Nem'ro the Hutt allegiance by framing his rival Fa'athra as being
supported by the Galactic Republic (even though the Republic demonstrated a preference of helping
the evocii over Fa'athra and his forces). Not wanting to fight his rival at a disadvantage,
Nem'ro allied with the Sith Empire to gain an edge against his rival.
Fa'athra the Hutt is unusual for a Hutt crimelord in that he is less devoted to Hutt Cartel law,
he considers himself a disciple of ancient Hutt traditions by using his wealth and mercenaries
for conquest rather than indulging in luxury and vices.
Features:
1 - Custom units
2 - Playable and killable Jedi and Sith
3 - Playable Gamorrean Guards (Nemro Loyalists are allied with the Sith Empire)
4 - Fa'athra's Gangsters (Appear as Rebel soldiers and Twi'leks, but have different weapons)
5 - Nem'ro the Hutt and Fa'athra the Hutt
Installation:
Put the nh1 folder in to your LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\AddOn folder
KNOWN BUGS:
1. Some objects float above the ground. No matter how many times I would ground objects or even
sink them into the ground they always float above the ground. I don't know how to fix this.
2. Cantina Music doesn't work. I spent weeks trying to get all the voices to work, and it came at
the cost of the Cantina music because maps apparently have sound file limits.
3. I didn't localize the names of the speederbikes for the command posts.
4. Units tend to stand in place rather than go out and capture command posts. Sereja dubbed this
as "unit meditation", a problem that probably was the result of barriers in my map as well as
the map's large size. Before making this map, I wasn't expecting this problem and don't know
how to fix this either.
BUILD TIME: May 27th, 2019 to June 14th, 2019

The scope and concept of this map make me go WOW!!!! And the custom units are great (and I especially enjoy the custom heroes).
If I have one problem, it's that the AI are often stuck in large groups at various points throughout the map, not even able to move out even when given a command to do so.
I look forward to any future works you may make.
Thanks for the feedback! When units are stuck in groups in parts of the map are they just standing there, or are they physically incapable of moving where they're at?
I've read that when units just stand still this is typically a problem of having too many barriers in the map. The problem is I couldn't really reduce the number of barriers without units getting stuck on things. All I can say is that it's the cost of making a map as big as mine and in the future I will make maps that aren't as big or use as many barriers.
Next map is probably going to be similar to Blood Gulch or something similar. It WILL definitely have Mark VIII tanks in it, I'll tell you that.
Plenty just stand there (I recall seeing 3 jedi just idling at the end of a pier), but I think others for the most part are just having trouble moving, like their pathing is forcing them against barriers that they're convinced do not exist. The latter was evident when a bunch of CIS units were leaning against a wall in one of their indoor spawns (just standing there, not walking, but clearly grouped along it), and some REP units (about 6) were pushing themselves hard against a different wall rather than simply walking along it to find a door to get through. The latter did display a bit more functionality, eventually able to move out, but it was so slow and clearly cumbersome.
i saw your post on swbfgamers steam group and decided to check this mod out, really nice mod!
Thanks! It was my first released SWBF1 map.
