Made using Tre_Kronor2, Falcon,& the RAF_2 fringe in the 2nd variant.
I was browsing the vanilla (aka base-game) stickers
for cosmetic use in multiplayer mode (which one may play solo, by the way)...
I couldn't help, but notice how the black&white Swede roundel
had a COMPLETE LACK of any gradient...
that was ever-so-slightly-infuriating... but also interesting, fascinating, and most of all,
And one-no, MANY ideas I had were...
-If the makers had some exceptions to the gradient rule in their stickers made back in the late '90s, so can we to a certain extent, right?
-What if I take certain decals (including this one), & remove their internal elements?
-This Swedish roundel isn't the only one with stuff on a white circle...
And thus, I went downtown with multiple censored instances of the old Finn roundel
decided to try & emulate how the devs could've made a free France fuselage roundel...
I'm still unsure about the methods I adopted - maybe they would've made it all gradiented?
or maybe they would've made the cross gradient-less like the circle's field?
Either way, I decided to take courage & publish these two variants of the blue Lorraine cross mark,
both consist of the cross cut from the duly expanded, blue gradient of the "Falcon" sticker,
pasted as a layer above a "Tre_Kronor_2", whence I had removed those Kronor
with an imbecillic ease due to the lack of a gradient.
I also decided to go fetch the fringe of dark, semi-transparent pixels
found encircling "RAF_2", pasted it below Tre_Missing_Kronor_2,
decided I very much liked it, & exported two extra .tga files accordingly
One or two red variants was/were also used, but as far as I could see,
this/these was/were more elaborate, with spikes or buttons at the ends...
I'm thus leaving those, as I currently lack the means to perfectly feign the devs' own processes...
Easier done than sai-erm, written!
The stickers are in a .zip archive - easily extracted via programs such as WinRar or 7zip!
Just extract the contents to the game's directory!
(aka, where you installed the game, in my case :
C:/Program Files (x86)/Paradox Entertainment/Airfix Dogfighter )
One can either download/drag the archive in said directory, right click, then left-click "extract here", or alternatively leave the archive where-ever, right-click it, then left-click "Extract files..." and input the directory in the text-bar or navigate manually.
It's just two stickers, but anyway:
From the game directory, either
navigate to or manually add in the top-bar :
[...]\User\Save\Stickers\Stickers
Locate the two .tga files with a name that begin with "NewZealand1",
then either move them elsewhere or delete them
Credit for the Airfix Dogfighter assets goes to the game's visual artists :
