FAMINE Complete Food Economy Overhaul Updated for 1.5.2 DLTX. Intended for Gamma but should work for other mod packs.
All Credit goes to PossuM for their work on this mod years ago. I've recently got this mod functioning with GAMMA and wanted to share it for others, especially those who've used it in the past and now use Fillable Canteens 2.0. Their are most likely a few aspects of Famine beta3 that had to be removed due to code changes or outdated mods. But I'll continue and trying to fully revive/update this mod, If you notice anything differs feel free to comment about it!
Original Mod Link - FAMINE Check here for more detailed information about this addon. "The motherland has been hit by a drought, causing famine and economic depression. The price of food items has exploded and the zone gets to feel the effects exponentially. As industrial food becomes even less affordable for Stalkers, they turn to hunting mutants for nourishment."
SUMMARY
Desired effects of this addon: Make it harder to survive in the zone. Make player hunt mutants for food and struggle with the side effects of consuming said mutants. Give cooking items a reason to exist. Reduce "gourmet" selection of food (canned meat, chocolate and raisins for desert) and food hoarding just by killing NPCs. Make player feel accomplished for being able to afford decent food types instead of eating rat and dog meat.
I recommend FILLABLE CANTEENS 2.0. By HarukaSai. It combines both Campfire Roasting and Fillable Canteen
And Hideout Furniture Expansion. By maidresidence & Aoldri Stoves can be used to cook, but use fuel.
Installation - Their are 2 versions included, Only one can be installed. Their are no required mods to use this addon.
FAMINE - Food Economy DLTX - No changes from original mod, other than removing Campfire Roasting and Fillable Canteens requirement.
FAMINE - Edited Budbone_DLTX - No price changes, Cig duration reverted, Alcohol duration increased slightly.
No changes to mutant parts. Field cooking kit changed to use charcoal.
Actor radiation decay removed - Requires you to remove folder from G.A.M.M.A. Radiation Effects Overhaul.
On Mod Organizer, you can search for a mod with the bar that ways filter. Right click on the mod then click open in explorer. In gamedata delete configs folder.
My other addon - Visual Accuracy Tweaks V4 Is not compatible with Famine, But is build in my edited version.

At first I thought that this addon adds new reed textures)
Sorry to get your hopes up! I only used this image because its a throwback to the original mod.
Me when Bread cost so much i am in Ireland during famine
Life will suck with this + Food Poisoning. Gonna try it.
Can this be added/removed mid game?
yes, I've had no issues on my saves. Even after adding/removing this mod multiple times during testing.
doesn't this mod add new items like the stoves in the original mod? in the past, ive had to delete all mod items from my game before deleting the mod.
I don't recall stoves being added to Famine in the past, but their are no items added to the map or stove alterations in beta 4. So their should be no issues if you decide to uninstall or change to the other optional version mid playthrough.
do we have to install the original famine addon? and what should we do about the visual accuracy addon?
No, Only this addon is needed. Famine beta 3 is not DLTX and will most likely cause a crash with large modpacks like GAMMA.
If you would like to still use Visual Accuracy its built into FAMINE - Edited Budbone_DLTX. But these two mods conflict so one should be disabled.
Aren't the number of uses from vodka gonna mess up the quest from the Yantar food npc ?
