Tired of the RNG blocking your progress? With this mod you can craft a Basic Toolkit in your inventory using commonly scavenged and purchased parts. Built with balance in mind, and DLTXified to minimise conflicts.
EnyoNomad's Craftable Basic Toolkit
This mod allows you to craft a Basic Toolkit inside your inventory using commonly available parts, it is intended to save you from the vagaries of the RNG, while still giving you interesting and challenging gameplay.
Through normal gameplay you will gradually acquire many of the necessary components for this craft, but in an emergency you will be able to pay a premium to acquire the necessary parts from almost any mechanic. The number and value of the required components should ensure that crafting your own toolkit is a last resort, especially in the early game when resources are scarce.
This mod functions by re-enabling Anomaly's unusued inventory crafting system, which allows you to complete simple crafts by dragging and dropping items within your inventory. The recipe for creating a Basic Toolkit is as follows:
The recipe is listed in an in-game article which should be added to your PDA (PDA > Guides > Encyclopedia Addons) whenever you start a new game or enable this mod.
Installation
Built with JSGME in mind, but will likely work just fine with MO2. Is safe to install mid-game, though removal mid-game might cause issues. Attempt the latter at your own risk.
Conflicts
The mod is made with (and requires) DLTX, and should be largely conflict-free. You may encounter conflicts with certain files included in the Magazines Redux and Weapon Parts Overhaul mods, namely:
- categories_addons.ltx
- importer.ltx
- st_pda_category.xml
- ui_pda_autoinject.script
These conflicts relate to duplication of files used to inject the new PDA article. The conflicts should be harmless, and can be safely ignored. They will not overwrite or remove any content in any of the affected mods.
Future Plans
Who knows? More crafts, or adjustments to the complexity of the existing craft. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

Make it compatible with Banjaji's Crafting System Improvements and we're in business.

If not, the modpack is sad :(
I think you can add the droppable items to the end of the crafting system file yourself, that's what I did with different plugins like Modular Helmets
I just got up the willpower to dig through all the files and yes, this is the only change needed, just unchecked the settings folder and I'm golden! Thanks!
