this mod increases the respawn time of most npcs and mobs by 7 ingame days!
i felt that most stalker games/mods are way to overpopulated for a radioactive zone.
the zone is full with npcs, armys of diffrent factions and sometimes the game feels more like ww3 lol)
i wanted the zone to have a more realistic feel with npc encounters beeing a rare but dangerous event!
example: in the movie stalker the group never encounters any other humans inside the zone, just a few birds...
set ur anomaly npc/mutant population option to 0.25 or lower
and use this addon to get a more realistic less populated/desolate zone!
(all credit goes to DrX and Dan's desolation mods!! all i did was port it over to anomaly and increase the respawn time even further)

if u dont like the 7days and want to reduce or increase the respawn time
just go into the files and edit: ''respawn_idle = value''
here are some presets:
1day - 86400 value (anomaly default)
4days - 345600 value (dan's desolation mod)
7days - 604800 value (my own version)
10days - 864000 value
14days - 1209600 value
(30000 = 1 rl hour)
Maybe a bit unrelated, but is there some mod that removes friendly bases from center of the zone? Or even further. It`s just very strange that right in Pripyat you have nice little base of loners and mercs and there is guy that can teleport you to safe location right from there... I tried to start iron man run as loner in center with limited supplies and was interested to make my way out of it only by my own but i didnt expect to see friendly face not to say whole 2 bases on first level.

pripyat should be a desolate, radiated city with only animals and maybe a handfull of loners, mercenary or ecos, striving through it and searching for artifacts but not a faction war place full with bases… i always hated that in all the diffrent stalker games and mods! still working on it myself to get it right but atm i cant really decide which mod i should take as base.. anomaly or dead air, both mods have pros but also alot of cons -.- its not a easy task to make this game more like roadside picnic

I'd love for mutants to also be a rare encounter if only because of how janky and powerful they are at the moment

btw i gonna work on a second optional version that will reduce/remove alot of the uber Mutant/npc smart Terrains spawns, i will try to make it like this that u will encounter only animals and maybe a handfull of bandits, stalkers, army patrols in the first early zones! the deeper u go into the zone the more and tougher mutants u will encounter, i will also try to make the citys more ''dead'' and remove those camps/bases in prypiat!
i gonna upload the update in the next few days, it will take me some time to edit all these files
That sounds nice. I never was a big fan of encountering burers, controllers or bloodsuckers in random places in otherwise low level locations. I still want to see them, but like you said, only maybe in underground areas and in the more dangerous locations.
I'm not sure if its related to this mod but after I installed this mod and opened up an Eco save, Dead City kept crashing whenever I tried to enter it from either fast travel or through the entry areas from adjacent levels after a few hours of playing. I should also note that the save was inside Dead City, but the CTD's happened after I left Dead City to do other tasks.
Even after uninstalling the Desolation mod, the game would CTD from any attempt to enter Dead City. Could be because I accepted that task where I had to wait for the Professor to finish working on that Psy-protection helmet that he was working on so I can enter the facility in Yantar.
Need to check the log and go through the trial and error process.
Nvm, had to just wait for the Respawn timer to finish. Waited for several days while in debug mode and finally managed to enter Dead City.
If anyone else has a similar issue, just wait for the A-Life Respawn to activate and then enter the area you couldn't enter.

the second version will be ready tomorrow! the next update will change most spawns, that u wont see any bloodsuckers/lurkers/burers in cordon or other early levels! stuff like poltergeister, giants, burers etc u will encounter in dungeons and in later levels like radar, jupiter, zaton, cherno, ofcourse there are some secret places in the early levels where u can encounter tougher enemys too but it wont be that much anymore, u need to search for them! i gonna do some more testing in the next hours but im sure i can upload it tomorrow :)
the second version is ready but because rl problems i will need 1-2more weeks to upload it, sry for that i hope u guys can understand it!

So far I am loving this addon makes the game feel much more immersive... How ever I don't know if it is from this addon or not but every single time I go to red forest there is always a squad of monolith 3-8 of them the Pop i have set is .25 so not sure why its that many of them there. I noticed in "red_bridge_bandit_smart_skirmish.ltx" in configs that it does have monolith has default faction to "control" that area but why do they keep respawning so fast? ( fast as in I kill them all I head to rostok do a mission and come back to get back to jupiter and they are already respawned in less than 2 days in game time ) Is there a way to reduce them much more than what it is? It says in that config that max pop is suppose to be 2 but I have only ever seen 2 monolith guys near Forester's building the first time I went to red forest on my playthrough with this addon and I always see 3-8 after this. Any help with this would be nice like what I be able to change this config my self to make it stop spawning squads of them or is this a bug with this addon?
That's actually the reason why it brought me here, to this mod, in the first place. I had an assassination mission as Merc in Red Forest, to kill some Monolith dude. Sniped 2-3 squads, including the target, but they just kept coming. This was before I installed this add-on by the way. I've never been to Red Forest since. I think it's a vanilla Anomaly thing. Read something in-game about how Red Forest is a Monolith haven or some such. I could be wrong.
Thanks for the mod, I certainly prefer the more desolate feel.
However, I wanted to double check, does this mod do things like prevent stalkers from camping in certain locations? Because I have noticed that certain locations, e.g. the train hangar. get no stalker teams at all for months of IG time.
This addon is pretty good, makes the game a little more immersive, similar to Dead Air and boosts performance (I think?).
The only downside is: there is barely any stalker squad in major camps (rostok 100 rads bar, army warehouses, some campfires etc) it's like you are in a ghost town or something lol.
