It simply shows the minimap as it is already present (but not configured to be shown) in CotZ, it doesn't change anything on it. (this "mod" is just the config/ui/zone_map.xml file extracted from the CoC 1.4.22 db and the test that it works in CotZ 1.0 & 1.1 as it did in CoC 1.4.22)
Also I am not sure what do you mean with 'your spotted' difficulty?
I have encountered something strange. After the mission to disable the brain scorcher, the scientist guy sent me with no gear to a mission. After this point, the minimap shows, but with no PDA NPC counter and no bodies showing as gray dots. I reinstalled the file, but nothing changed.
Oddly, I noticed that after getting mugged, the mapspots for friendlies and dead bodies stop working and only shows squad leaders and quest markers on the minimap.
With further observation, this happens only the mugging is allowed to take gear (default setting). If the theft of gear is disallowed in the mugging, and if set for only money taken in the mugging, then afterwards, the minimap behaves as normal.
This seems to occur with any minimap mod added, not just this one( those with counters available lose the ability to count nearby stalkers as well).
I cannot figure out why the minimap spots for friendlies, the dead and the counter would be affected when items are removed from inventory, since the same files (as far as i know) are not shared, but NOT affected when only money is taken.
tested on a fresh DocX Vanilla
all available minimaps in the addons
save and reload does not correct the situation

This is a commonality for this condition, removing gear from the players inventory like in a mugging or now what the scientist did for that mission, triggers this condition, with ANY minimod used (and I went through them all).
Does this fix the 'your spotted' difficulty?

With this add-on I can now use the Infrared Scanner upgrade for the Tactical Helmet.

As config/ui/zone_map.xml isn't in the list of changed files of CotZ 1.2 I guess it is compatible with [CotZ 1.2] as well.
